The guide has a massive "gamebreaking" flaw. You do not anywhere take account (ha!) of the people who have multiple settlers accounts across different game worlds. Some with differing log in options used, e.g. Facebook for one world, say the US and Legacy and/or UBI for others.
Edit:
Second question. I play by Steam, and I *already* know how to play using normal webbrowsers with my Steam credentials, yes the very thing you think cannot be done, because I'm awesome like that. Can I just migrate to UBI direclty that way without having to involve the incompetence department you call support?
Edit2: Also, my UBIsoft Account is already connected to TSO Testserver TSO account. How will that imapct trying to move.
If you are a Steam user, please contact our support team so we can disconnect your TSO profile from Steam, allowing you to merge (your account will be "Legacy" after this procedure).
Is this the only way we can keep playing as steam users as we do not get much info on the steam site besides the comment they are looking into it...
Just to point out that the email stage from disconnecting from facebook can take ages to arrive
Mine probably took an hour which caused me to send a ticket
I now have a new level1 attached to my uplay account so I need to wait 14 days to wait for it to delete so I can attach my now fixed account to uplay
I had to change to a ubisoft login last year as my facebook login stopped working. When I changed over I didn't get any rewards. My wife has just changed her account over and she got all sorts of goodies as reward for changing over. seems a bit unfair I would love the 30 day premium reward for changing over.
This guide is only for players who want to merge their accounts now. If everyone has to play from an Uplay account, we will publish an announcement and provide full details.
1. If your account is linked to Steam, you won't be able to merge it without disconnecting it first.
2. Please check this.
I have received several similar reports. We are currently investigating.
I managed to switch my facebook logon to a legacy and then link to Ubisoft doing this. Thank you! At first, the app on facebook would not allow me to turn notifications on for the settlers app (or any app), so I was worried I would not get a message from you to change the password. I now found I had a setting in facebook that I needed to turn on first, see screenshot below.

You maybe should add that it takes quite some time to receive the automatic e-mail when you remove the Facebook connection.
ok, the guild i'm in seems to have a few players that have used ubi login for test and when they try to link main account to ubi login they can't link it's already linked. prnt.sc/w3ihld
Is there any way we can get around this without having to delete test account or making new ubi account etc???? Time is fast running out and would rather not lose players due to fiddly issues like this, if we can avoid it pls.
Edit: One recommendation suggested is would it be possible to have deactivation period on test accounts be dropped to something like 48h so if this is the issue stopping main account being linked we can get it fixed faster???
Currently, it is not mandatory to use a Ubisoft Account, so we will not change it. However, when this is the only way to log in, we will announce it together with all the details.

Roughly in mid-January, you will also require a Ubisoft Connect (formerly Uplay) account to continue playing. This has several reasons such as security, homogenizing our technology overall instances, and getting ready for all future steps. So, this is another important task we all need to complete as early as possible to ensure our islands continue thriving.
hi been playing Friday sat, sun now getting this message
"something went wrong, please make sure to start the game via the website, also make sure that you are still logged in, if problem persists, please contact support"
re done , reset, cache , dns browswer edge, log in log out log in still will not play just above messag,
sending to support no email reply happens so no referance to put here, so contact support does not exits, put in on facebook and no reply from any BBS people yet looks like everyone is in hiding
regards royavatar, very very very very very very upset
getting same message royavatar, every time i close down, but always boots up again. needs to be looked at.
how did you detach the level1? I couldn't figure out how!
So WHEN are the 32-bit and Linux downloadables dropping please?
We are trying to build a bit of a bank of presents for our guildies who cannot currently connect, but if BB are not going to have those overlooked clients released before the xmas merchant dries up, it is a waste.
More information please BB.... .Keep us in the loop!
I still cannot get passed a message "cannot update client". I'm going nuts trying to figure this out. It is, no doubt ,easy for some of you but there is something i am not getting.
So, if you already login using the [ Login (Ubisoft Account) ] button, then I assume you need do nothing more?
From the first message on the thread that led here-
'After entering The Settlers Online site you will be greeted with a message allowing you to link your Uplay account with The Settlers Online account.'
Is the 'Uplay account' the thing that is created/accessed by the CREATE AN ACCOUNT/LOGIN on the white UBISOFT screen shown a bit further down the original thread.
There is no reference to a Uplay account above this reference so how do people know what it is?
I followed the instructions to migrate my account to Ubisoft account, which I already had. I had forgotten my password for the Ubisoft account but I was able to reset that OK.
So I migrated it then went to login by Ubisoft account login at the top but it doesn't see my account and calls me 'new settler'.
When I go back to Legacy login and go to migrate again it tells me the account is linked already.
So I can play on Legacy login but not in Ubisoft login.
I have followed the instructions.
Any ideas, or will I just stop playing when Ubisoft login becomes mandatory?
try pm bb_traffer
Tried that - he's probably sick of people pm-ing him.
Silly me for thinking this was a place where you might get help with BB-induced problems!
i did it long time ago so i forgot how, but i remember it whas straight forward, as it should be.
but reg: support!!! one should think it whas there for them to help us players, when ever we need it.
guide is pretty simple to read and complicated to follow by the looks of it
login to ubisoft, delete wrong assigned account from there. it takes 2 weeks
keep on playing using legacy
after at least 2 weeks, click migrate in legacy, login under unity and there you go. all sorted
Spoiler
Thanks JohnRo I'll do that.
I was totally at a loss why I suddenly had a L1 account - they don't explain that well at all.
Thanks for your reply Traffer, which I received some time after I posted.
Thanks also for the link to the instructions that I had already read and followed.
Even though I followed the instructions apparently I 'made a mistake and created a L1 account'.
If it is possible to randomly create a L1 account when following the migration instructions carefully, then there is something wrong with the instructions and the process.
So I have logged in by Ubisoft and deleted the 'new settler' account, after 14 days I will once again follow the same migration instructions and see what happens.
If I get another L1 account then that's it for me.
In the interest of creating feedback, which this topic is about, here's my feedback;
The whole process around Flash end of life has been a shambles, rushed out at the last minute, alienating a good portion of your players and leaving others with a variety of problems with the new 'interim' client.
The updated client seems little better, citing the experience of a number of my friends, who report lags and random shutouts for hours at a time.
On top of that you now introduce this Ubisoft migration, the results of which appear random, ranging from no problem at all to failing to migrate and creating new starter accounts.
That's my feedback, I hope you find it useful.
Having followed these instructions on 14th February
"To do it, please follow these additional instructions:
*Log in on Facebook
*Go to “Account” – “Privacy Settings” – “Apps and websites” –“Edit your settings”
*Delete the app “The Settlers Online”.
Afterwards, you will receive an e-mail including additional information (please note - this may take a while).
I'm still waiting for said email, please advise on how long I need to wait.
i just followed the instructions to merge from my profile. I didn't get the option to merge settlers with Ubisoft. I already have a Ubisoft account so could this already have been done? I don't remember getting any rewards if I did.
I sent private Message to BB about my problem but no answer :(
when i will create a new ubi account i have to use the same email as the one i already use for my faceb/legacy log in? or it should be a different one?
ty
I deleted the game from Facebook and waited for the email ... 7 hrs later and no email.
What is supposed to happen now ???
I went to log into the game as normal and FB login button is there, no instructions to say what to do if we dont receive this email.
Do I log out of FB on the website were we load the game and see what options come up. I dont want to end up with level 1 island
I had a little trouble with migration. I do not receive any mail in my vipmail.hu mailbox. If I try to enter the uplay, it will indicate an incorrect password, but the password reminder will not come from there ... When I registered, there was no problem with this e-mail adress yet...
If I want to re-register with my name that has been used for several years, it says it’s already booked. Nana, to be busy, I signed up with him, but ubisoft could really get there in the XXI. century to also send a password reminder based on username to the email address registered for the name.
After several years of play, I don't want to start from scratch ...
