"a large event with many new specialists" ..... Only new specialist on test is the Motherly Explorer, here's hoping whats on test isn't whats going to be going live
I'm really really bored of playing 15 minutes to send all specialists on treasure searches. They are getting too much and costing more and more effort.
Knowing there will be more to get is really frustrating now.
But I can also give you a suggestion / idea on how to handle the treasure searches.
All at once is not good because of performance, and also i might want to send different searches per group of explorers.
But I would like to have a feature in wich i can specify how many times the specialists has to complete the job, so he can automatically go again when he's back.
So with a Spinner i decide how many times to do the search (default: 1) up to 99 would be enough, and if I open a busy explorer, I can see the spinner with current amount of searches to do that i can also set to 1 to tell him to stop after current search.
This would handle it correctly.
this is my Proof Of Concept: https://pasteboard.co/JTWPV2F.png
The previous changelog to implement the End of the World event promised "a new adventure", and we got an adventure from 2012 that wasn't even updated. I'm not expecting anything more than what's on the test server for the Easter event.
spending a few hours and analyzing all the info, i can only say "Well Done". event keeps on going so happy days.
NO dev diary for easter event?
no
as with all previous events
the dev diary
will come later
how about fixing the Excelsior...
A bit weird to release the feedback before we tested all the phases of the easter event.
Still waiting for the 2nd phase of easter event with things like gem bundles/boris and maybe other stuff that i might have forgotten.
If the first phase on the test server is the last phase, then with the dozens items for gems this is looking to be another dumb decision by the devs and terrible event shop
I have around 100 explorers, 11 rows of 9 explorers...
Still 4 minutes of time waste... In the 4 minutes i want to play and have fun... not spend in boring repetitive stuffs like sending out explorers.
Also if you don't want to use the feature i proposed.. just leave the spinner to 1 it will not affect your experience
Seems like BB halved the staff and still trying to get this game going XD
Click, click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click,click, click.
Bored of it!
what and when about fixing the Excelsior rewards Disappearing (except adv's) and Guild Market Vote System
On the explorer's boring thing, I believe they have the mechanism.
Do them like Generals on Adventures
Step 1 - Select the search (adventure / treasure)
Step 2 - Select explorers like when you select the adventure and send multiple generals (imagine a select all button...)
Step 3 - Profit?
I believe it is easy to implement and everyone will be happy as, in my case, I will do like select one treasure/adventure search and then send all explorers.
Re Explorers
Need to be able to select by type IMO, or select them by ticking them individually before selecting the send
(this should be optional, you should still be able to select one and do something else with that)
My exps are skilled 3 ways, mostly for treasure search apart from : for adventure search (keener/intredid) and a few for modified treasure due to being short focussed (humble)
My only issue with individual selection is if it works like generals if the game pauses as it likes to do when it returns you have to start selection again, its soo painful and the sort order sucks big time. My general selection is stuffed with useless generals so takes ages to find them all that I want to send.
So for me either allow us to select say all lucky or individual i could at least select and send all by type with significantly reduced clicks overall.
Just wondered if this could be a really strong usage for right click. As we know this will become available
Maybe right click could work like Excel (and other similar programs) with a contextual selection
So left click explorer works as now, right click would allow "select all of this type", and then it would go to the same screen as normal for sending explorers
Buildings the same, left click say a woodcutter and it would bring up the normal building so you could stop it, right click would bring up "select all of this building type" and then bring up the building screen but with the timings greyed out (because they vary) and allow you to stop them all, or restart them all.
then dont send the or stop playing
Thats usefull, Qawpaw. Virkelig.
About having the inbox filled with stuff from the Explorers explorations etc, why not add a function that remove all items found by say the Explorers directly to the Star menue or the House instead of forcing us to recieve "helpful" comments that do no good, when gamers/players present the topic.
Also in an event, if you check if you have a likelyness to win over an enemy camp you have an option to click away the box after both by using the top right X in the corner or "close" - both lead to another click click click, as stated above. How about having say the top right corner get back completely out of the function and back to gameplay ? Just a thought.
Thanx for removing boris from the rewards... there are many that still doesn't have him and would love to have gotten him this year... but no... he has been removed from the possible items to get from the shop unless you spend gems on him :/
Re explorers:
mine are mostly skilled by type, some for just goods, some for adventures, a lot for artifacts & some for rarities. I know which is which by their picture & because I have renamed them according to their main skill. When they come back, I have to go to the bottom of the loot report to check on their type - especially when I get a new explorer or some odder types like scared (I've still to get anything special back from scared other than a refill - useful but boring). I'd like the explorer type displayed at the top of the loot report, not the bottom. At the moment it just says 'your skilled explorer'.
Looking forward to this event, especially after the disaster from the EOTW one :-) Please sort Guild market out and excelsior, been long enough now.
y'all forgot the subject of this post.
also, this is a transition time towards smtg else. maybe then all previous bugs will be looked upon.
surprised to see 2 new additions to the concert hall, nothing said in the change log.
Test server isn't changelog.
Many things go on test and never make it to the game.
I just open mailbox, select all lootmail and click move to storeage, it will sort itself out as it goes to starmenu or not and can't be bothered to look @ individual loot or explorer perks.
I don't care if it takes 20 minutes to process them, I just want fewer clicks. Select the treasure search, select the 100 explorers and then let the code do its job.
like keeping one explorer and then sleep for 1minute until the client process the next explorer it will take 100 minutes, if you have 100 explorers, but you will keep your sanity.
There are ways to do it, I don't know the code of the game or how the developers work on this but I believe they can implement a solution like that.
No, they did say they know about the struggles of sending lots of explorers to searches and they said they will work on this.. once we are on unity they said i think?
Same with starting, stopping a production chain. And buffing.
Too
Many
Clicks.

Will Unity allow for group sending of explorers?
We know this is a feature that is very high on the Wishlist of all Settlers and thus it is also very high on our list of new features we want to develop in the future.[...]But after all, Settlers have moved into Unity and you and we are satisfied with the game’s performance, this will be one of the first features we want to tackle.
Side note - Dev Diary is around the corner :)
It takes 5 mouse clicks to send a single explorer on a treasure search. So let's do the math shall we? 75 x 5 =375 clicks total and apparently we have 180 seconds (3 minutes) to pull it off. 375/180 = 2.083 clicks per second.
Now the only way you can reliably do that is by using a third party tool and even then lag would get in the way as even barring mistakes, ie godlike perfection with your mouse clicking, I'm not seeing 3 minutes being possible. 15 minutes with over 100 sounds about right.
I have over 100 and I don't use third party software although frankly I probably should as clicking over 500 times gets old.(more than 2500 times a day if you use fast returns as that gives overall a better result). My theory is that BB hasn't truly thought this through, as otherwise they'd have done something about it years ago.
As for this event as a whole, what were they thinking? Oh well, no need to spend any real dollars for this event I suppose. It's good that BB is so flush with cash and can afford a second event in a row with mediocre rewards as there's nothing in what I've seen so far with this event to get excited about.
Hmm she's not showing up on the Settlers Wiki as being available for the event, so are you sure as it's usually accurate with what is coming.
