and start ironing out all issues players have in game with stuff that dont work. As its now is getting more and more worse to play. As of now there is no information given out (atleast here) that tells us anything about progress. Checking in with tsotesting from time to time and not any news there either.

Have events on hold and see the next run for the exit
Stopping event will not significantly make more time for game improvements anyway as events are basically a copy of last years event with some tweaks and new buildings/explorers/generals
So programming wise, it is a minor time spent- It gives the graphics artist etc some work but they arent invoolved in bug fixing anyway
I suspect most of the team, having honed their unity skills - are now working on The settlers as release is in 2 months and as it is a new title- will have top priority
Since they mess up game more and more after each improvement they could either improve game or stop making it more worse to play just because an event.

Doesnt matter if we ask about it before event or point out the risk, the "typo's" still show up and then are investigated for 3 weeks after which the conclusion is: it all works as intended, it was just a typo to be fixed :P

I can understand why people ask BB to stop implementing more events and new stuff, because as we all have seen, nothing get fixed and more bugs appear.
I guess Qualan is right in thinking that the bugs might have nothing to do with event - besides the timing of maint.
A logic person might ask a few questions on this background.
Why do they launch it all in one go?
Why do they not fix the bugs reported on test before launching?
And all in all - Why do they not fix the bugs.
And even more important. - Why don't they get the game to work- they have been at it for more than 4 years now.
So maybe it would be a better solution instead of cancelling the events to "fire the Intern who have been playing around here once a week since last summer.
"Hire someone who knows what they are doing." No one who knows what they are doing can be this slow and this incompetent's. No one who wants to keep their customers keep telling them lies and half truth and treat them as if they was total imbeciles, who cant see through all the lame excuses.
(this might lead to an increased income from the sale of gems, when the players start to find the game worth paying for again)
If the Valentine event is going to be like the ones from previous years, dependent on co-op adventures, I really hope it will be cancelled or postponed until the game is working better. It's hard enough doing single-player adventures these days - I've pretty much given up on adventuring until it's fixed. Trying to do co-op adventures to keep the flower patches filled sounds like a nightmare to me. Frankly, if the event goes ahead and the game continues as bad as it is, it will likely be the first event I've ever skipped. Because I can't imagine putting myself through that.
TR is the only way to go in that case- it is 1 attack to send (ghost with 230 elites) and ask someone else to close
Hopefully they will now finally get some grip on the unity problems and make it playable for the ones playing on unity -
From my own experience- it is slower and a lot more frustrating, especially when u need to send multiple attacks and/or have troops returning from an attack and then your new attack all of a sudden switches general (that seems to be a fundamental flaw in their programming on which i have seen no rel feedback that it is on the list to fix either
Hey Settlers.
Back in the time when we implemented the temporary client, some players could not play at all, because the client did not support their OS. We still decided to host the events based on the schedule. At the moment, everyone can access the game and participate in the events, but we still have some technical issues. We do not plan to stop running the events - this allows you to choose whether you want to participate or not.
I understand how important these events are to many of you, and I can only assure you that we are aware of what are the most annoying issues and requests from you and that is what we focus on.

This is all well and good, but your not making adjustments to the events to accommodate for those technical issues. I simply can not adventure and put myself through torture and frustration ( when I should be enjoying my free time ) on unity. It is clear those on client are having a much better time, given those that have leapfrogged me on my friends list.Quote:

Yes I agree I can login now, but logging in and being able to actually play are 2 very different things. Wait for Island to load, zone refresh, zone refresh, give up log off
And Unity is still locking out players' logins following dodgy maintenances and/or corrupting the flags that enable it to tie the player with the server database, so BB reply is wrong on 2 counts.Quote:

At this rate we're heading the same way as their "Battle Royale" games Hyperscape, except that was a case of trying to follow the "last big thing" whereas TSO occupies an unique place in the F2P market and they're letting it rot away, losing the 1 thing they're actually ahead of the competition. :(
why do you think so many take the unconventional route that is against the terms of service
either works and play outside of the TOS or be inside the TOS by using unity and not play at all
Unfortunately, I hit a roadblock in that "route", despite doing everything correctly, the choice does not appear, guessing there may be some quirk with my comp/OS at work as I successfully got it working on my mobile phone.
But having been beta-testing the franchise for 30years now, (has Volker seen the mess it has become?), I'm still trying to help them get a working, playable version.
Trouble is, they're not listening to the people with the most experience, the players.
Unity is clearly not fit for purpose, the unfixed bugs since the script kiddies took over from the devs in 2014 have destabilised the game, and instead of investing development in an established franchise with a very loyal player-base, UBI are still hell-bent on wasting resources chasing "the next big thing" long after it has been done to death by everybody else. The same model that makes EA such a dirty word in gamers' books.
The big publishers are unlikely to come up with something innovative, "the next big thing" when they keep swallowing up the companies capable of independent thought and shackle them, all they end up with is a very nice back catalogue but zero chance of breaking new ground. Famous names like "Bluebyte", "Origin", "SSI", "New World" are just merely names now, floating about in a huge corporate quagmire, all the innovation is coming from the independents who in turn will be bought out and sink into oblivion.
They've now spent longer trying to port TSO than it originally took to create the game from scratch, with the really hard stuff like creating a story and mechanics already done. The same bugs we were reporting on Test a year ago are still with us now in the Live version. Surely even the beancounters must have realised by now that there is something very wrong with this picture?
Yes, they tried to adjust the programming to a new engine. Alas usually it is easier and better to rewrite it and adjust the game to the different limitations a new engine has in the way of gameplay
Trying a 1 on 1 migration was bound to be a fools errand and alas that is exactly what it is
Someone has to have the balls to call the big shots on game play change to keep a working game
Same way some big shots were called in the past to make gameplay smoother/better. A new engine should have been a chance to rebalance the game at the same time and make smart choices to the way the game handles issues - not this POS transition where the processors get overworked on useless fluff
