Yep me too, I wonder which General is causing the error, feels like a Major General issue to me :)

Clearing cache let me get past general error stage, now game is hanging and not loading
And if you look on Facebook they haven't even updated since the Christmas event so no hope of any info there re this issue. Fantastic customer service...NOT
PS Reason there is so little here by way of comments is that people cannot login to the forum as they cannot login to the game.

Same problem happening here, "general error" and can't log in, over and over. Never had this issue previously.
Not sure if this is everyone's problem, but i cannot connect to U-Play/Ubisoft Connect and therefor cannot get into the game.Quote:

It definitely feels like Ubi$oft Connect is the root of this problem as was getting the "this service is unavailable" message mentioned in the original thread just before this began happening, and the "general error" message is consistent with being logged out externally whilst in game.
Other games attached to UPlay similarly affected as were the ancillary services like friend lists.

Just logged back in (around 3.30am GMT) and login process is playing up again, only manifesting different symptoms.
The manly white login page has the spinning UPlay symbol and the word "error" in small red lettering lower down.
Closed it using the X in the top corner and tried again, this time successfully.
But very unusual is the return of the "Login - Legacy account" button!
Seen it appear as a fleeting glimpse occasionally as if some old cached graphic gets replaced, but this appears permanently.
