during 'rock in a hard place' I gained 5 boxes of offcuts which gave me shards in my star, just started 'altered state' and again I was given 5 mystery boxes, I opened one, no problem, but then tried to open a 2nd and the game just kept spinning, after a refresh the 3 remaining had gone and there was no extra shards other than from the first.
As there is no or very little info about it, I have no idea what is a bug and what isn't, should i have got five mystery boxes or not
same.. allowed me to open the first one, but the second one kept spinning and then they all disappeared..
For a lvl80 players this whole quest line is nothing more than just an endless pit to drop valuable resources into without getting anything useful back (usually completing those quests will give 1-2 star coins). I was hoping it will get somewhere at some point, but it doesn't, so..
on testserver each level up of forerunner gave a mystery box with star shards - maybe that is bugged here on live if more level-up-boxes in star at same time.

By me the same problem the second time just now was the second I have a ticket ready, and it is ridiculous how long it takes to get answers I want
a compensation for this in form of 5000-star shades and this is, the bug will be finished at least we are the people what take care of the salaries by BB
when we're buying your gems, so I think it is fair to handle us also fair thanks romarius2109
Upgrade: now 5 times like that and no answers on my ticket, I don't know what can says to that it shows a really very bad character from site the
BB support team, sorry I have other education receive from my parents to respect other people and answer there question and help, it shows as well
the score what BB have against other game provider, I think there is now some work to do, to receive back the trust of the gamer ...!!!!
i also had 5 boxes in my star menu, opened one, the rest vanished, did not return to star after clearing cache and logging out for an hour :(

i had the same problem as the OP
I had a similar issue, I was able to open all 5 boxes but when I went to add them to my storage only 100 shards were added the only 600 or so diasppeared.
The same thing has happened to me the last two times when I got the 5 boxes. First one opens and gives me 100 star shards, but on the second box I get a spinning hour glass and all the remaining boxed are gone after that.

PS: @Romarius most of us know already that tickets and support is almost non-existent. We just leave comments here for the Time Capsule ! After centuries someone will fix al these bugs.
Same thing just happened to me as well...
temporary solution to problem from german forum ( google translated with small corrections)
1. the explosive charges btw resonance suppressors build in the forerunner.
2. Occurrence 1 blow up btw resonance suppressor lay.
3. Don't continue with the remaining 4 deposits, but first open the star and the one box you received.
4. Immediately place the contents of this box on Mayor (make sure that it is also listed)
5. Now do the 2nd deposit, stop blasting/laying reso again and open the next box, put the contents back on the Mayor.
6. proceed in the same way with deposits 3 - 5.
It is important to put the contents of each individual box on the Mayor so that it can be counted in the storage. It is not enough to open the boxes one after the other, because it has already happened that the contents of all the boxes could not be placed on the Mayor later. ( ed. error alreaddy happens when boxes are stacked in star - not when opening ) ,REALLY TREAT EACH OCCURRENCE INDIVIDUALLY AS DESCRIBED ABOVE AND THEN ONLY BLOW UP THE SECOND TO FIFTH BTW WITH RESO. In the somewhat cumbersome way, everyone gets their boxes with splinters opened and the contents also in the storage, where the correct calculations is done.
I lost boxes three times, sent 3 tickets with no reaction. Thanks for the tip, halv12 :)
i just did the quest "rooting out the problem" . completed it , and it gave me 5 crystal fruit baskets. i opened them and i got 5 x 200 shards. they where in my star menu, i saw them. now i wanted to add them to my mayors and they are gone , and they did not go to my stack in normal storage. they just vanished

you should know by now that player inputs and bug fixing that don't crash the game and only have a negative impact on the players will get little to no attention,
Stuff like the infamous missing ghost ship as it ghosted into the wild blue yonder -
they put stuff on test but then put the same stuff on live servers - so any comments/request/improveemnts and "minor bug fixes" get ignored
So the message they are projecting out here is "We don't give a hoot about the players really and we will do what we want as we know best anyway- even though we don;t play the game or hardly play the game- We are the superior Beebees and we play lipservice by pretending we care and fix stuff
I actually do know :) I just pretend I don`t, that way I can say I did do what they tell us in Global. Even though I know from experience, that it does not make any difference.Quote:

Thank you for all the reports. The team is aware of this issue, I will update this thread when I have more details to share.
This workaround, suggested by a guild mate, seems to fix the 'Between A Rock And A Hard Place' problem :
During 'This Will Be A Blast', after creating 50x Chem Blast Charges, apply to 1 Otherworldly Hard Rock only. This will create a crate of leftovers in Misc tab of Star (the rightmost one). Open the crate to reveal some shards and (optionally) a mining guide buff. Then pick up the shards from Resources tab of Star ('planks') and drop them on Mayors House. Works correctly.
Rinse and repeat on each of the 4 other Otherworldly Hard Rocks one at a time.
The above procedure worked fine for me when I just tried it. Previously I've been applying all Chem Blast Charges before opening any crates, which seems to mess things up.
Shards from Rooting out the Problem vanish into the ether when applied. Quest is not worth doing.
I am stuck on the Plants need food too part of the quest. Buffed my 5 trees with fertilizer and now got 5 otherworldly fructiferous trees. quest won't finish so i cant go on to the next one and harvest the fruit. I completed all the other parts. says I don't have any trees. yesterday I had 4 showing in the quest.

This has happened to me 3 times too, last time last night where i lost another 400-500 shards after only the first box opened properly, this has cost me around 1400-1500 shards now.

Just cut it. Bench it for 2-3 years, send devs to uni, so they can learn proper HTHML5, new DBs, scream on Ubi to get you some proper sysdevs. set up monitoring, I mean proper monitoring over OIDs with values into DB say every 30s, for all equipment (server, networking, etc), so you can see what`s the hell going on. And then pretend to be software company again. Maybe put some 500euros a month to some kid testers. Frak. If no german fella in middle school will take 500 a month, do some adverts in serbia or whatever.
Edit: did read on some forums, plenty of folks in east asia working for AI developers feeding data are now jobless, so maybe find your testers there, based on reports, they have been paid peanuts over there, one gem pack will pay you couple. (red the rates have been under 1c per respond/problem solved)
P.S. if you guys need to google up what OID in monitoring means, just give up and close the shop.
I'm now opening my crate shards a box at a time, a credit of 100 shards appears in the star, i move to Mayor house, nothing credits, the number held stays static. But at least the spinning round and disappearance of the other crates has stopped .... still no further forward.
ADDENDUM - Logged off and on again, now my 3 remaining unopened crates have disappered from the star, but a mystery box appeared with 150 shards in, so i'm only 350 shards down, plus the 1400-1500 from before...
Lost another 500-550 today, system refreshed when i was opening a seperate crate, i got 100 shards from that but the unopened 6 boxes just disappeared out the star menu. 16 4 2024.
i have a samo problems, from start starfall,
on that way i lose minimum 3000 star shards ,probably more.
i honestly don't know u can be surprised by this, it has been plastered on forums and chats for months now -
Best read up on some work arounds or accpet that this is what it is or don;t do it till it gets fixed
If its been known for months why isnt it fixed? Designers busy with new skins no doubt instead of doing important stuff, or testing properly before release. Just saying , bit fed up...
Yes that is a good question.
But it is an issue that has been around for a long time- Bugs are known but do not get fixed or get fixed very very slow
Whatever the reason, bug fixes do not seem to have the same priority with devs than with players or at least the selection of bugs to fix/prioritizing of fixes doesnt seem to match what we would like to see
The same with game improvements- many would have preferred to see mass explorer sending rather than starfall etc etc
Absolutely agree with mass explorer sending, it is utterly tedious currently especially in events. Lost another 400 odd shards yesterday, first box of 100 worked, second again span around and then they all disappeared, i'm not clicking the boxes in star again, hopefully they will store up and work in 10 years when its fixed. I think this lot have moved onto the New Allies game and we here are now just an inconvenient legacy.Quote:
