Why yet again hasnt the bucket of sweets zone wide buff added the forge as it covers smelters and half of the epic yard is smelters?
To all lower levels - take this advice with your Haunted Mansions....
I posted this in guild mail, but I reckon lower levels all over deserve to see it.
you should really be getting at least double their worth in pumpkins by exchange.
Leave the Haunted Mansions until last and hold out for the maximum amount of pumpkins you can get for them - there is a shark-fest in the final days for these items whereby players offer ridiculous amounts of what they by then see pumpkins as low-to-no-value.
By being patient, you could probably get 3, if not all 4 specialists just by selling your 2 mansions if you choose to play it shrewdly.
I'm looking forward to this. :D The new quest chain will be exciting to see.
A question, that I've wondered about before and tried to look for an answer, but haven't found one. What does the demolition ability do?
Overall I found the Dev Diary lacking in detail. I wish there were more specifics (which is what I usually think btw)
"The Laboratory enables various resource conversions". What conversions exactly?
The description of the Mad Scientist: "A General who is "Crazy for Explosions" and gives the Demolition ability to your units, as well as increasing the damage of heavy units.". Would you mind telling us exactly how much of an increase?
Also, What are the achievements?
Also, a complete list of the refills for each adventure would be nice.
I expect (hope?) that the Dev Diary will be the "final word" on what will happen overriding the sneak peak and the Wiki. The sneak peak is referenced and linked but it's not clear that nothing has changed from that. I don't see repeating the details in the official diary as being a problem even if they haven't changed.
One exception: The very precise explanation of the damage calculation (with one caveat: I'm not completely sure what a absolute damage bonus is. A skill book?)
Absolute damage bonus is anythign that adds a fixed number. Juggernauhgt gives a general +30 dmg (or whatever), that's an absolute dmg bonus. Battle frenzy gives a relative dmg bonus, i.e. a percentages increase of say 10% on the dmg you do.
When adding and multiplyign it matters in which order you do these things. They are clarifying that order. Which matters for those who write simulators quite a bit.
What puzzles me is why they decided not to follow the standard format with this general. Doesn't seem to help anything much, just makes things more elaborate and potentially confusing.
bad choice for seasonal adv this year, hmm x2 loot only and we need 10k pumps more this year then last.Also same production time for pump fields even with x5 buffs all time on 9 fields not enough to most of items.Nothing changed to improve this Halloween event,need to sit all day long and play adv for refills with prem time. BB killing slow this game. cheers
So, let's say I was level 26 - 36 and saw this list, what would I think?
I am unable to start any of the x2 adventures other than sftr as to start any of the other x2's I have to be at least level 36. So unless I am in a kindly guild who will give me loot spots all the time then I am totally done for in terms of gaining pumpkin refills unless I do sftr non stop....Great work BB, wonderful way to encourage the lower levels to take part.
No, looking at it as a guild leader who has lower levels who have only just started doing advs up to those who are not level 36 yet. Sad thing is BB don't think about them.

Once the rules of any game have been set and it has started, be it for only a couple of hours, you simply cannot change them especially when something promised (as in black on white for days for all to see and to prepare accordingly) is suddenly removed because of a "misunderstanding"! Simple as that. You take it on the chin and deliver on that promise, whatever it takes!
Is there nobody to double-check on facts before announcements are made??? Is everyone in the office on their first week of their first job ever???
Bring a hotfix! It's not as if any single event has ever gone without the need for a hotfix or two during its course anyway...
The border of ludicrous and ridiculous with such contempt for the customers base and apparent ineptitude is so far in the rear-mirror, that I cannot see it anymore...

And today this is magically crossed out, you can not promise something and then not provide. In New Zealand a advertised product is a legally bound document, I believe the dev diary was published document and that it is legally bound to deliver. I will await my extra pumpkins, extra loot and extra xp after the 15 hotfixes you will end up doing to fix the initial screw up.

So why not take responsability for ur so called "mistake" BB? We have to believe u guys made a mistake for weeks and didnt notice? Really? I would have gotten fired asap with an cheap excuse like that and a dumb mistake like that. "Sry boss, I didnt notice I made a mistake, for weeks. Oops" You should have said: sry guys, we made a promisse we never intented to keep. At least that's the truth.
So, here's ur feedback: halloween event sucks already
also sharing the similar sentiment as the previous posters. I'm a touch disappointed to see the double xp has been removed upon the event beginning. I'm sure the lack of loot drops are a bug that'll be hotfixed, but the loot was reduced as a balance for the additional xp, so surely either the loot needs to be boosted back to x3 or the x2 xp reinstated. While I have been less affected, as I haven't been stocking up on the specific seasonal adventures (already enough sotv to sink a canoe), there are several who had been. The outcome however, is I am less inclined to run the seasonal adventures for the 2x loot alone.
I have just completed Stealing from the rich a seasonal adventure, and have not received double pumpkins, double loot, or double xp as we were promised in the dev diary published 19 October.
very very disappointing, sorry we cant do as we said we would after event started, really poor customer service. you need to make this right and give us what was promised for weeks
has to be said its very disappointing, last years event was great, this looks an utter bust already .. esp for lower levels who are penalised again as cant do ToWs and ToKs
i prepared for this 2 x xp bought a few advs for coin and resources was like a kick in the gut
Yeah it's sad. There is more stuff to buy than ever and no bonus adventures at all. Since there is not even an attempt to fix the situation I assume the decision makers or key parts of the development team is on vacation or just not available...
OK Here goes
I love playing Settlers. If I didnt I wouldnt be here. Well most of the time I love it. Stupid mistakes by the Devs annoy me and everyone else playing the game. We all make mistakes that part I accept. But when BB announce continuously for weeks that this year certain adventures would give double xp and then go back on that and say it was a mistake is ridiculous. Personally I wasnt going to do Wisdoms as they use arrows which I dont have many of. BUT I did sell over 130 of the adventures at a nice price to people who thought they were getting ready for an xp bonus.
The Devs need to be better prepared . You in honesty need to make amends for this Faux Pas Im not sure how but most people accepted that adventures were nt givng more loot (x3 last year) as they were getting abonus through xp.
Just a thought. For the sake of people who have invested heavily for this event PLEASE consider doing a 2 week special on ALL adventures where there is at least a plus 50% xp or more. I think that would satisfy most people.. This would not cost BB anything and would show some real goodwill and intent on your part

I'll bet we get a present, like 2 pumpkins and a 12 hour buff :) And than we're supposed to stop complaining
Pretty much rulened my event as I now have 14k elite troops and no room for regular troops. So I still have to play those ToK and ToW until I can start halloween adventures.
Did you consider cancelling the whole event as you couldn't deliver or donating temporary 20 haunted mansions to all players so we could play regardless what troops we have? I didn't think before that this 3 army gameplay is very bad but you made your point now and convinced me that your product isn't any good.
So the double XP on seasonal adventures was "a mistake". Did it raise some player's expectations? Well that repeated, highlighted new feature of the event was certainly expected by some players - clearly a players mistake for reading the sneak peek and dev diary.
On a positive note, at least there was no emergency hotfix on the first day of the event!
Strange bug, doing the "call from the unknown" quest. I've had 12 explorers complete medium searches, and only 3 of the 6 segments of the bar have triggered. Did try relogging, and it's been a hour at this point.
