explorer lost in the woods

I am pointing that :

I have all coal ore depozits and all coal mines - but in 3 hours 1 of them will be depleted
and if I send explorer to find coal ore depozit and that is 4 hour busines

he will return and : explorer did not find ore depozit becouse you have to many .....ets.ets.

and I send him imidietly back to same
and after 4 hours he discover what I send him for

is that bug - or feature ? can anyone explain me?

(feature is a bug but developers can not find him)
(I am in software busines and I often explain users about "feature" of software)

so my sugestion is - not to check if there is to many ore deposits on send - but check on arival of explorer

The Geologist will only find resources that have depleted prior to his leaving town, I assume he walks on past the ones still operating ;)

I encountered that as well. I am a bit less dependent on having to use all, so I found it practical to keep 5 of 6 coal mines running and keep 1 floating.
Regardless, I do agree with L`Leo, the check should be done b4 the explorer leaves, or it will keep those player that have to rely on 6 coal mines having to endure a min. 4hr outage while the explorer get's the 1st chance to re-discover a needed coal mine.

I believe the players need to get the opportunity to plan ahead and send out their explorer in anticipation of when the mine extinguish.
