Petards ~ New Battle Unit

I've had a vague idea for a new type of military unit, "The Petardier"

The basic idea is this: he's a one-shot, disposable bomber.

Hit Points: 1 to 5
Damage : 0 to 1000
Accuracy: Very low (So the damage done is random)
Initiative: First Srike (So he has a chance to attack before becoming dog-food)

Skills : Splash damage.

The intention is that this unit is a wave zero / wave 1 kinda guy, to put a dent in the enemy.
I don't think it would be right to be able to load a general with 200 petards, so maybe he should be an unlimited item from the tavern, a special type of general. This could give people a reason keep a tavern, and maybe a petardier costs gunpowder to buy...

the unit sounds OP to me, unless it would be quite pricey, or as good as usueless if it hardly has any chance to do any damage.

i would like to see pikeman myself, a unit that can only defend, but protects all units weaker than itself

Further thoughts: instead of a fanfare, he makes a noise like a geologist then moves across the map 3x faster than a normal general, and the battle lasts 1 second. ~ A brief cloud and a puff of smoke.

Needless to say, he doesn't recover... ::skull::

Doodlebugs, you build a ramp on your camp, and 30 mins later, they land on a random camp in an adv. percentage chance to go off course and crash on 1 of your own production buildings.
