using edge i am now getting https://prnt.sc/vne0j8 telling me flash is out of date and is blocked i can still use it by clicking run this time but that is yet another hurdle to stop it being used

Check that edge and flash are both up to date.
Just did some checks here and edge is even more annoying in that you need to click into the site settings each time you load it and enable flash for the site as the option will never stay on, you then need to refresh the webpage but not close the browser as that will reset flash to off again.
There is certainly no flash is out of date message seen.

Edge version 87.0.664.47
it's not blocked, it's just turned off
