very nice to see pfb will work assume love crazed buff will too...also nice to see you added the Delicious pack so us who couldnt buy it now can thankyou for that ...the halloween bundle can you buy both pumpkin version and gem version or is it limited to just one ?
they added vetnture one in as well i think i seen
This very unique bundle was re-added for all players that could not acquire it during the Venture season.
Name: Delicious Treat (not tradable, not giftable.)
Type: Bundle
Cost: 7.999 Gems - Overall only once per player.
Description: Oh this dainty bit cannot escape your attention. Check out the ingredients of this time-limited feast.
Oh poop! They've fixed the Delicious Treat!
Did I calculate correctly that even if i keep every field x8 buffed whole event ill not be even close to buying the new specialists and lanterns? Not to mention all the other new stuff.. and then there's still the old stuff too..
Wondrous residences have been trending in recent events so I was kind of looking forward to a Halloween themed wondrous residence. Regretfully there was no such building on the test server.
Not the end of the world but a tad disappointed BB opted to go again for the "extremely useful" Mad Scientist (and laboratory) rather than what could have looked like a properly spooky building.
As it has been mentioned in previous events' feedback, there isn't really the need to come up each and every time with a new gen/explorer/geo set, is there?
Yes, I know: how will new players cope and quickly catch up otherwise? I wonder how we, older players, did for years...
Yes, was very disapointed we did not get a new wonderous manor on this event... had already saved some gems saved for a second one :)
I was really hopping for a really cool one halloween themed. They are kinda of a very good prize that has been the driving force for me the past events, as the rest has been stuff i can live without.
Hopefully christmas sees the return of them... please BB :)
is there an adventure event merchant we could have a sneak peak at pls? :)
There is, considering generals are the only thing left in game that has attributes allowing for potentially altering gameplay. Everything else is just either raw production working the same way one we already have does, housing space (which by now should be a non issue for most players) or purely cosmetic.
If you dont provide something that, if we are lucky and BB does no worse than decent job designing it, has decent impact on the gameplay, you can potentially have huge chunk of the population skip the events alltogether, because lets face it, majority of us isnt 10 anymore and theres little fun to get from clicking eggs spawning in the same places every year on the same maps, or sitting and looking at cemeteries passively producing resources.
I do think there is a need for something new. We need some kind of carrot to want to work to get the items. But the quality of the new items have been dropping dramatically during last events - worst flop was the mad sci.
Events is the spice that makes some of us want to keep playing. But on the other side it is also killing the game. I have lost track of the geos and explorers - dont even bother sending them all the time. I lost track of the geos abilities and what to sent for what. I dont bother much on skillling them as the number of books I have is a drop in the ocean compared to what would be needed. My point is that it gets my star menu to more and more cluttered. When sending to advs - it is a task to find the right gens in the clutter of gens.
Many of the new buildings proves more or less worthless once I got them. I sort of get the feeling that the devs have no clue what we actually need. Like the choice of making an imp letter-smith - an imp fine-smith would have been great - the letter-smith is still collecting dust in my star menu. But well I know that it is hard to keep coming up with new stuff. And it does not really improve matters when devs does not seem to try to understand what we allready have and how that works with the game.
How the spooky bronze mine work?
It placed on the copper deposit? If yes, what happen when deposit ends?
really stupid that.
It's the least useful building from an event to date in my opinion but no one is forcing you to buy or use them. :)
It is like the artic mines were way way back. they were also an event item.
They were not the best then to be kind, and this ones despite being a lot better since they are in reality smelters they are also not the best. i'de rather we got 1 only that was not destroyable then this.
That's the thing with this event though, so many usless stuff to me nowdays that i can just relax and get a couple things. first event in a while were the grind won't be so bad for me :)
There is a maintenance scheduled, which will fix the issue that some players were not able to see the Golem during this Halloween event. You can check out the website for more details.

You rotten lot.
Following info supplied i sent all my explorers out on longest searches , as you stated , they would return with pumpkins.
Today you change that info.
getting a dose of anno-online devs deja-vu
Absolutely shameful in my opinion. Obviously BB will stop at nothing to try and drag more gem purchases out of its customers. I would guess the majority followed the belief that explorers sent on last searches would bring pumpkins home. Another sad day in the life of settlers. I love this game and the whole series but they are testing even my patience nowadays :(
The Dev Diary stated "Explorers will bring Pumpkins if they were sent before the Removal phase kicked in." until five hours after the end of phase 1, i.e. the time when we sent out all of our explorers on prolonged treasure searches.
Why is BB doing this? The dev diary was very explicit and BB cannot make me believe that they did not notice that line until after the end of phase one. So, are you trying to annoy those loyal customers, who who spent gems on additional explorers?
Absolutely pathetic. I am furious!
mine came back with pumps thou
So you tell us 'Explorers will bring Pumpkins if they were sent before the Removal phase kicked in. New explorer searches will not bring any event currency.' and we consequently respond appropriately and send explorers out on the longest possible treasure search we can. Event Stage 1 ends, explorers are running and you decide to re-write the rules. Surely you were already aware of this issue weeks ago by reading your own diary and a week ago when the event ended on the French server. Sorry, simply not good enough.
Pathetic. Say goodbye to my wallet.
rules changes ....
(Explorers will bring Pumpkins if they were sent before the Removal phase kicked in. New explorer searches will not bring any event currency.)
Explorers only sent and returned during the Halloween Event will bring back Halloween Resources:
In very rare cases, Explorers may find Halloween Resources on arrival shortly after the start of the Event & shutdown phase
that bit in brackets was /is lined out .. see the halloween event removal phase bit
Laughable from BB. Truly amateurish, slipshod and pathetic.
Just tell us if explorers are bringing back pumpkins or not, don't lie/mess it up. It really isn't that difficult.
For me 37 explorers of varying degrees of fanciness all sent on prolonged searches. What a waste of time and resource planning.
How there meant to work is here and has been the same since pre 2016
https://forum.thesettlersonline.com/...asure-Searches
goooood job changing the rules right at the end 57 explores no pumpkins great job !!!
way to go! we had been told in chat by mods and on the forum that explorers would bring pumpkins back. I got suspicious when there was seemingly so much clarity about this point when it's normally a mystery every event... ;)
I don't think anything ingame was changed regarding the pumpkins during removal phase, the explorer event items were always a bit hit or miss as to whether they returned with them or not (I very rarely got any). The description update is probably just to stop people complaining when their explorers return with no event items.

[Dev Blog] Treasure Searches
Dear Settlers,
A Dev Blog provides a glimpse behind the curtain. It's written by our Game Design Team and it's not translated to avoid information loss or unintentionally changed facts. This time, BB_Alex provides background information and explains certain development decisions about the Treasure Searches and Removal phases.
Treasure Searches: Event resources right before Removal phases
http://static.cdn.ubi.com/0034/int/f...es/devblog.png
The Dev Blog texts are provided by the Development Team in English.
Dear Settlers,
When the Removal Phase of a game event like Easter or Christmas gets activated, Treasure Searches don't provide event resources any more.
Treasure Searches that ended before the activation of the Removal Phase generally still provide Event resources, with one exception:
If the reward was not "physically" received while logged in/ if the player did not get a new reward mail during the event runtime, no event resources are provided, no matter when the search ended. That is why a Treasure Search, even though it was finished during an event or close before the Removal Phase, did not provide event resources.
To explain this mechanic and provide insight into the matter, BB_Alex created yet another Dev Blog.
Terminology
Let me start by defining a terminology to avoid misunderstandings:
Zone - Everything in The Settlers Online related to you. The island, adventures, items. It's your personal instance in TSO.
Zone shutdown - 15 minutes after exiting the game, the island zone is shut down. It is inactive until one of your friends visits the island or you log in again. When logging in again, certain time related things are being handled as if the time was simply "fast-forwarded".
fast-forward - This term is used for a calculation process, which is applied at the point when you login and start the game. The process is used to save progress while your zone is inactive.
loot table - A table containing the loot, the chances and conditions. One of the conditions is if a certain event is active.
treasure search task - The task, which is performed by your explorer. This tasks generates a loot table under certain conditions and sends the result via in-game mail to you.
persisting - Data gets saved into the database to be available at a different time.
fail-safe - A safety mechanic responsible to keep a system stable and avoid errors or locked zones.

What happens if I am offline?
If your zone is inactive there is no calculation. When you leave the game your zone will be shut down after 15 minutes and it will remain inactive until you login and start the game again. While the game loads, the time frame in which your zone was inactive is calculated during the fast-forward process.
Is the treasure search task part of my zone?
Yes. The explorers, and every task they execute, belong to your zone. The calculation of their activities while your zone was inactive is done as soon as you login and start the game.
When is the loot table generated?
The loot table is generated at the beginning of the treasure search task. The loot table results aren't persisting in the database, but are only available as long as the zone is active and are lost as soon as the zone is shut down.
Is the event also part of my zone?
No. An event with all the values is set globally for the whole game world. It doesn't matter if your zone is active or inactive. The event will start and stop independently of your zone.
Why don't explorers bring back event resources?
Let me explain a possible situation and maybe the most common one, where treasure searches won't provide event resources.
1. You start the treasure search task, which theoretically will be finished before the end of the event
2. The loot table is generated and the results are available
3. You close the game
4. After 15 minutes your zone is shut down and the loot table results are lost
5. During your inactive time the event ends
6. You log in and start the game
7. The fast-forward process calculates your zone and the fail-safe generates the missing loot results again based on the currently active condition. The event is not part of those conditions, because it ended before you logged in.
8. The loot doesn't contain eggs
What exactly is the bug/error?
The results of the treasure search task are not saved (persisting). The basic fail-safe mechanic made this bug hard to track down.
Is it not possible to save (persist) the results?
It is possible. However each individual item in the loot table results would have to be saved (persisting). The amount of treasure search tasks running simultaneously multiplied by the amount of individual items generated in the loot table would require a lot of space in the database.
Next steps
A solution we are currently exploring is to save the conditions if a certain event is active. We still have to test to ensure this solution will work as intended while maintaining a stable game environment.
I hope I was able to explain the system and answer questions.
Happy Settling!
BB_Alex
I was quick to complain.
I am now quick to say thankyou for resolving the issue.
thanks from me too. Pity it happened but life goes on :)
The swift acknowledgement of the issue with the content of the mail received, is nicely refreshing and heartwarming in this cold season (provided one lives in the Northern hemisphere).
Many thanks for the extra pumpkins! :)
a good resolution, ty BB
so i am guessing the way they used to work and you could send them out prior to the end of a phase and still get resources will no longer be the case??
Every single one of my explorers that were sent before end event but returned while i was logged off at work found pumpkins , ones that returned after i logged in found none, So they will still find pumpkins provided you are logged out when they return but if you log in after the end time then they wont.
