Deleting a thread/post
Does anyone know how to delete a thread please? I know what it says in the FAQ about this, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it.
The Guilds are supposed to delete an old recruitment thread before starting a new one, but there is only an edit option, not a delete option.
Anyone got any ideas on this, please?

You can only delete a thread if you are have posted the first post in that thread.
If you are, then:- Click "Edit Post" at the bottom of the first post
- Click the "Delete" button
- Tick "Delete Message" and fill in a reason (like "want to open a new recruitment thread")
- Click the "Delete Post" button
-
Thank you. I will take another look.

Ok. If I click edit post on the first post in this thread there is no delete option, however, on my response to your advice there is a delete option. So it seems I can delete any post except my original one
So how do we delete a guild recruitment thread?

The background admin settings are inconsistent for regular [plaintext] players. In some sections of the forum you can delete a thread you started, like in Verified Bugs:

In quite a lot of sections, like regular Bugs & Technical Issues, and here in General Discussion, the option is missing:

So for now only someone with [in colour] powers like a MOD or BB can remove even "own-threads" in much of the forum.
MOD_powers are also needed if a guild is wanting to replace a very old recruiting thread and the original poster is no longer available.

Thank you Iolanthe. That is most helpful.

Players can delete their own threads again in the Guild Recruitment Area.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention!
