I absolutely agree with you, it is extremely desirable to have this.
Of course it has been requested before and the response from BB has been that (A) this is by design and (B) the two are different classes of buildings. Their mechanics is simply different and one can not be easily morphed into the other. This is rather technical and not very satisfying of course, but what can we do.
The adventure bookbinder is, I think, what they call cultural buildings. The way it works is the same as in the oil mill, chocolatier etc. with its expansion bonus that affects the speed when you simply have several of those buildings. They also share a common production list across identical buildings. And they cannot be buffed. So, lots of differences here to consider...

Here we are once again with players asking for a means to queue books, despite BB already having provided 2 different way of doing that and telling us the means to do it CAN NOT be done using the bookbinder.
i find rph queues to expensive and adv. bookbinder (@my stage) to slow AND books from adv. bookbinder don't count towards Quests (look some other threat)

They have very simple reasons to never do it, but technical limitations are not those reasons.
