Ok, maybe i just don't understand boris, but i translate reducing enemy swift units dmg by 50%, as enemies who have first strike.
If thats correct, then why doesn't the winter terror on people of the mountain get its dmg reduced by 50%? Is it a bug or do i just understand him wrong.
There's no bug you just are getting it wrong.
Swift units are Swift units because they are defined as Swift units (check the unit identifer icon). Most (probably all Swift units) have First Strike. But having First Strike =/= being a Swift unit. Unit type is, theoretically speaking, in no way tied to what abilities a unit has, though keeping it logical the categories of units tend to correspond to some abilities.
Many Boss units have First Strike but they are Boss Units not Swift Units. They are not affected by Boris. It's also possible there are other not-Swift units that have First Striek, though can't think of any now.
TL:DR:
All (probably) Swift units have First Strike, all units with First Strike are NOT Swift units.
To present it differently, every unit, boss or not, ours and enemies, has a little icon displayed in the top right corner of its tooltip window. This icon can either be a :
- Shield : defence units (rec, militia...) - the ones boosted by Hard Frost from Weather Station
- Bow&arrow : offence units (archer, xbow...) - the ones boosted by Nusala
- "catapult" : siege/heavy units - the ones boosted by Weekly Maintenance and Mad Scientist
- skull : all bosses
- CAVALRY : swift units (cav, knights, MMs...)
Thus, Boris only affects the damages of units with a cavalry icon. And Winter Terror is a boss, with a skull icon. Cheers!
