Until recently, I would only have to reset sounds and background noise to off after each maintenance. Now I have to do it every time I log in. Please consider that people know what they want, and do NOT want to have to leap to reset their sound requirements each time they log in! The high pitched twittering, particularly, is annoying to hearing aid users.

I really hate the birdsong too. Luckily mine seems to stay off, but +1 for those affected.
If you're using Chrome and having this problem this has helped in the past. It is a year old so things have changed but it may be a jumping off point. If you're not sure what you're doing in areas like this it's not a bad idea to ask/bribe a tech-minded friend to give you a hand. Seriously.

Should save to your account not be cached. Really annoying to keep switching on the sounds. I want them off forever
