The problem is the guild house. I don't know why, but it causes an insane amount of lag. Demolish it and you'll have a nearly lag-less game (except peak hours). Unfortunately, that may not be...
It looks like they "fixed" this. :( Accidentally deleted a field built on top of a shrub and now it won't go away again no matter what.
