OK, here's another bug that was supposedly fixed.
The other night I was invited to help a guildmate on a Dark priests adv, so took the MMA along with the following troops:
1r and 219 cav.
I had a round 1500 recruits in stock before setting out.
On the adventure, I used the MMA with the 219 cav to take out the 1st camp en route to the Bone Church, with no losses.
Then, when my partner was clear for the Church, I launched the MMA + 1r to make a suicide attack with the intent of saving him the cav losses, but he had already launched his attack from closer, and killed the church.
Therefore, my MMA came home with his full complement intact, 1r and 219c.
However, unloading these left me with only 1499 recruits in stock!
Where did he go?
