I have not experienced such a thing before, today is the first time, but I expected somehow. Skilled geologs sended out to search iron ore deposits, and the last one can not be found, even on more attempt, always 'to much of this type' notification, awhile the place was clear. So log out/in, yep, there is the deposit with laurel wreath. Ok, it is simply a bug or lag. But...
I suppose, every time when a skilled geolog find any deposit, so the first deposit too, could be fine the notification. Just do not start the next, because everything went well, the last will be found soon...
