I think upgrades to basic buildings are extremely high cost! Also, what is the point of gold coins when it seems that Gems are the only meaningful way of buying resources etc? Maybe you should be able to use gold coins to pay for upgrades to buildings, or at least to buy Gems, because at the moment they are irrelevant!
