    Transfer resouces to Star Menu

Can we please have a way to transfer resources from storage to the star menu without doing a "star menu" trade with another player?

There is no justifiable reason for wanting this.

There was a discussion with BB_Alex on this very subject back in July 2017. He agreed that using Star this way was never intended. Based on what's been said since then it appears that BB's view on this is if you want to store resources you need to have the free space in your stores. BB can't blame the players for this as it's their lack of foresight which has lead to the situation we have today. I suspect "Shady dealings" is more about an attempt at a long overdue cure to the problem than anything else.

That's not entirely correct, because in the early years they did a change that caused overflow resources to be added to the star menu instead of being lost, and then remained silent about it for a few years, despite it being abused from the start.

So if they had never intended it, its surprising they didnt think about the most basic usecase when first making changes that allowed it.

    Also :

    Youre right on that one.

A decently built island should have no problems storing 2-3 millions of excessive resources, and if you have that much and a balanced economy, chances are you would need years to burn through that much surplus.

Probably only coal and plat ore are exception from that.

Same as with explorers, people are simply creating problems for themselves by playing compulsively not intelligently.

The arguments all seem valid but have to be looked at in the correct context. BB is as much at fault as players in this and realistically can;t do right whatever they chose.

    1) The change to overflow to star was a stop gap measure for another problem, namely that you would accept adventure rewards (either accidentally or consciously with full store houses and you would lose the excess. There were lots of complaints about this and some difficult to obtain resources caused the most issues. The stop gap was that star menu was used to create an overflow.
    2) As usual, BB did not think it through and didn't cap the overflow to a certain absolute value or relative value (for example 100k items or 20% of your storage space)
    3) Some players saw this as a cheap out from building and upgrading storehouses and used star menu as unlimited storage space/overflow
    4) As the problem was relatively minor, BB ignored it- they do have a track record of ignoring problems when there is no easy solution, either in programming or in solving dilemma's
    5) We all need to remember the context of all of this, the time when we had only home island and a lvl cap of 50 and stuff was hard to come by for upgrades/maintaining production chains etc. Storage was relatively expensive (only the basic storehouses were available) and the mail system worked differently as well, i think all mails were auto accepted after a certain amount of time (so no keeping mails in mailbox to avoid losing items either)

I still think an absolute limit on star menu would solve many issues if this is only done for overflow (i have like 120 mil water in star- go figure :P)
