How can I change generals route to target?

I made the mistake of putting my garrison in the centre left of the island and now I can't reach the easy bandit camps on the right side without getting drawn into the medium camps in the middle area as the trajectory always goes through their red zones. I keep getting wiped out as I'm not strong enough for them yet. Is there any way to move my garrison, or build a new one. Or is there any way to change my route? Help!!

Yes. Select the garrison and choose the transfer (trumpet) option.
