The fixed landing spots on Secluded Experiments aren't fixed at all.
When I place a gen it makes the blank square, after a few secs it vanishes again and the gen does not land.

Same problem on at least 2 spots on HLT. Place gen from star menu, blank camp shows up, after a few secs instead of gen building tent he just vanishes back to star menu.
This problem still exists, confirmed today (again). I can not place a general from star menu in the top right landing spot.

"The landing area in "The Clever Little Tailor" had been adjusted to prevent the generals canceling their building process."

Buccaneers Roundup got issues too...maybe more serious as it could be potential exploit with one player doing camps for two players.
I experienced a weird glitch with landing zone spots on it when playing it with a lower level guildie the other day; already sent a ticket with screenshots to support.

Landing spots in Gunpowder not letting me land and even when they're all free I still can't build my Major General. Happened just now
I've suffered from it a lot when I was doing mainly the non-FT/Ali adventures. It is one reason I don't do those so often. I think the problem wasn't just in SE.
