The licence is returned when the mine becomes depleted and not when you destroy an exhausted mine.
If at first you don't succeed, sky-diving is not for you.

I will ask the question again about the exotic wood. Is it found on adventures, explorers or special quests or is it designed purely to be purchased?

Adventures, explorers and trade. Same goes for granite, saltpeter and titanium ore.

Hi BB_Azariel, Do production lines need to be in the same sector? For example, can I just add up all my woodcutters and foresters across all sectors and use that number to calculate additional buildings? Or is it that only foresters, wodcutters and coking plants in one sector will produce coal most efficiently? Cheers SPUD2888

There are only two pairs that must be placed together: Forresters / Wood Cutters & Fields / Farms. Everything else can be located in any sector (e.g. Hunter / Butcher, Smelter / Weaponsmith, Cutter / Coker)

Foresters & woodcutters no not 'have' to be close together. You can place them at different corners of your island if you want. It's just very inefficient to do that, but the cutter's would still cut down the trees planted by the foresters. Only with a travel time of a few minutes.

No they don't have to be placed together but there are more reasons for doing it than not. In the same way that I could walk backwards all the way home if I wanted to but it wouldn't be very sensible.

Cutters don't cut down the trees planted by the foresters, it's actually the other way round. The foresters replace the trees cut down by the cutters as the deposits are maxed out when you start. If you placed 2 cutters in sector 1 and three planters in sector 9 you would eventually end up with the cutters travelling all the way to sector 9 due to deposit travel times in fairness you would likely end up with then all working in sector 5 as they'd reach an equilibrium in time. Pretty pointless either way
