How about the option to 'skip' the Tutorial via a button? For advanced players who have done full Islands before.... just a thought...)
Skip the tutorial?
Kid, when posting in a topic, at least try to read the previous posts, the tutorial is a reward and guide system, it tells u what u can do to do it 'right', and it rewards u for doing certain things, so why would u remove that?
All those arguments are fine, but couldn't all game be a liitle more faster, just to keep me alive when playing it?
About 100% faster then now... if I do good math its double speed time then now![]()
I think an improvement to the tutorial would be to just make it VERY clear you CAN build buildings while other bits are completing and you NEED to build at least 3/4 of certain builds..
just a quick 'I recommend building X of this during the tutorial stages' at the end of each building quest text in bold would do
the tutorial is actually a good thing, why speed it up? u play the game as how it is supposed to be, u build ur own city and get rewarded by doing so.
and at last not everyone is a fast learner.
i was on tutorial a few hours, in a few weeks im almost 23 and gearing up to hit the bigger camps, in that two weeks thers been about 3 days downtime
from reading help tab, most people dont read the tutorial properly, so speeding it up would be negative. thers alredy alot of very simple questions being asked because of non reading
The pacing of this game is such that people will just abandon it from sheer boredom. People don't treat gaming like its facebook, this dismay with the tutorial pacing should be an eye opener for the game developers.
I Disagree that the tutorial is boring, the first time i played it i didnt understand building placements and i did just what i was told, then i learnt to play the game, figured out the optimal way of playing, and started to write a guide for new people, and to be honest, there is one sure way of pleasing everone here, they are right in you start waiting around for ages whilst your buildings are being built, so why dont you have hints pop up, for instance,
Level 1:
Start off mapping your area, each building takes 2 blocks, so knowing this will help plan your buildings effectively
first building - create woodcutter.... place it anywhere between the trees and the mayors house, closer to the trees the better, remember forresters should be 1 cell closer then the cutters
Level 2:
Now you must place your saw mill, this is to create planks for buildings in the near future, try and place the saw mill as close to the majors house as possible as the tree cutters are going to be cutting down trees faster then you are making planks
Nice easy Quest of clicking the Majors house and then
Level 3:
Build a forrester, 2 forresters are required to replenish the loss from the cutters, so place these 1 space closer to the trees and make 2 of them, even though the quest only asks for 1
Time to find a stone deposit whilst your second forrester is waiting to be built
Level 4:
Build a mason in the area underneath the stone Quarry, if it finds a Quarry to the south or the east look again, your trying to find one just above your stock pile
Level 5:
Build the residence anywhere out of the way completely
Level 6:
Build a fisherman, chose a spot as close to the fish as possible, 2 spots needed
even though the guide only says build 1, for future fish production its always good to get a second
Level 7:
Build the provisions house, this is a building that should be kept as far away from any production lines, anywhere on the map around the edge will do
Create a fish platter, this is done by clicking the provision house and going to buffs
Use a fish platter, do not use on fishing, use on the saw mill (fishing is pointless when building is level 1)
Now explore your new sector
Level 8:
You can currently explore 3 more sectors so send him out 2 more times whilst you continue with your quests, once you have found all 3 sectors, send him out to hunt for treasure, this can be real handy early on, but does take some time for him to return
While waiting make some more woodcutters and forresters, you will need many of these later
Start mapping your sector again, carrying on from your other sector, then position your storehouse near the rock surface
Level 9:
Send your Geo out to find a copper deposit
Whilst waiting around, make 4 woodcutters in total and 8 forresters, making the layout so that they replenish constantly
Remember your fisherman are working, so make a few buffs
Build your copper mine
if you have any spare buffs, buff all the end lines.... dont buff, woodcutters, or your forresters, concentrate on your sawmills, stone Masons, and your mine
If the Tutorial gave tips like this, then people A would not be randomly placing buildings like we all do when we first start, B people would start thinking about what resources they need and be advised to create more, which means more resources coming in, and a faster pace to the game without changing anything
The tutorial is supposed to be slow for you, Its trying to make everything clearly to understand and what exactly your are supposed to do correctly.
