I am playing settlers online for some time now , since the beginning of the diesiedlersonline.de.
At the same Im still an english speaking player so I was really waiting for the english version of the game for European players.
I mean the english version is no different from the german, except for the language.
I am posting this message to ask , WHEN the Open Beta will be launched ?
It is an open Bèta, a key is send to u when u register.
Of course it is not.
They even have a big menu on the webpage , called Closed Beta.
It's closed in the way that u need a key to get in.
You get one when u register, so keys are given away pretty easily, making it quite open imo.

Got to agree with Perkons, may say closed, but pretty much an open beta, just invatation makes in elite. But then I cold invite others! That aside, got to say UBIsoft finally did something good, I have every Settlers game, from original Amiga version 1 to the latest Settlers 7. Great game and glad to see it is now going free online. After numerous other problems, with a number of games and trying to beat the piracy war (which is easily done by the way, if you just use logic) this is a class act. Well done UBIsoft....

For the moment I have no news about the open beta version. I can't say if the closed beta will last 3 weeks or 3 months. Whatever the case, nothing will change from on to another, so it should not interfere with you enjoyment of the game.
