Received 50 Bows for Camp 1.

when I have the cavalry made, I'm going to try this on camp 1, sector 9:-
1 60R; 2: 113R, 12S, 70C, 55LB (173R)

edit: it worked quite well on camp 1, actually returned with the 12 recruits I need for camp A! Loot was 50 longbows...

for sector 3, I didn't get intercepted by camp 2, so I could take over that sector with one fight less.
Placement of garrison is like described in your original post.
