How do you go about beating him? I seem to be losing hundreds of troops and getting nowhere. Even every combination I put into the battle simulator just seems defeat a few rangers.
The only thing thing that seems to work is 2 waves, 200 cavalry then 200 militia - is that the only way??

I did it in 2 waves
1st: 110 Rec 90 Cav
2nd: 110 Rec 25 Militia 65 Longbows
Youll lose about 210 recs and 90 cav in total doing this
Does the second wave has to be directly after the first wave or can u take some time for rebuilding your army?
The bandit leader regenerates as soon as your general from the first wave dies. So no need to attack directly after.Originally Posted by kaasaanfiets
Is this really true? The combat simulator calculates utter disaster by doing this. You get chuck but loose both waves completely leaving 70+ rednecks
First wave 85 cav, 115 recruits - this will kill all the rangers
Second wave 80 soliders 120 recruits - this will kill Metal Tooth and 50 rednecks.
You lose 85 cav and around 220 recruits, depending on your luck.

Metal Tooth did not take damage during the first wave, so it doesn't matter. But, I might be wrong, aren't bandit leaders regenerated immediately after combat, which means it doesn't matter anyway.
Perhaps the stats changed over the last 1,5 years since I didn't kill all the rangers. The total result however still matches.
I had the following:
1st: 115 Rec, 85 Cav
Left: Metal Tooth + 50 Roughnecks + 13 Rangers.
2nd: 115 Rec, 35 Mil, 15 Cav, 35 Longbow
In total I lost: 230 Rec, 85 Cav, 7 Mil.
This one is a little better:
1st: 115 Rec, 85 Cav
Left: Metal Tooth + 50 Roughnecks + 10 Rangers.
2nd: 120 Rec, 15 Cav, 65 Longbow
Total loss: 225 Rec, 85 Cav
