for faster awnsers i suggest you use the ingame helpchat.
But you can increase the cap by building residences and later replace those with noble-residences

do you built many residences at first... and then start upgrading them and demolish so you can built other buildings?

You should not upgrade the residences, but wait till you can build noble residences, then replace the residences with noble residences. And there is no need to demolish the noble residences, because you will want more and more and more and more and more....
