A signature is like a banner ... you can check on google : "forum banner" and click on image to get an idea

there's many kind of banner from simple pictures to animated one

A signature is a little picture that's down your posts, like I have. YOu'll just need to create one, with paint or photoshop, and then post it here I prefer to post it with a imageshack link... You could upload your signature at imageshack.us (you'll have to register first!)
