Very tiny thing about Dark Priest adventure guide:
There is no 8 milita on units needed -line, but there is 8 militia on units lost maximum -line. I hope someone can fix it. Causes some soldier casualties now.

Units needed, average: 422R 161S 194C 135LB (912 units)
Units needed, maximum: 435R 161S 194C 135LB (925 units)
Units lost, minimum: 370R 4C
Units lost, average: 421R 3M 12C
Units lost, maximum: 435R 8M 3S 19C

I'm more than likely working right now.
The walking time is 18 flags = 60s if I'm correct, so 100s is enough. It is quite tight though, so yes, the block with elites is safer.If you could verify the walking time, you could see whether 100 seconds is enough.
If there is any kind of spare time, that is really enough.
Now, if you had Crossbows, you could try the following if you wanted to:
BATTLE HARDENED general: [49R 1M 1S 15B 1LB 73XB (47R 5B - 49R 10B - 49R 15B)] {20 seconds of fighting}
It ensures a one-round demolition, thus giving you 20 seconds of spare time instead of 10.
If you have Cannoneers, chances are you have Elites anyways.
I'm also curious to see if Tage's update for Witch has setups for Cannoneers...
