like said before, quiting is the easy way out.
This game was never tented to be an easy game. If you think you have to do too much effort to keep your economy driven, then this game isn't probably your kind of thing.

Geologist do rely on re-exploring areas. That's the whole point of mining! Mining is really messing and hazardous in real life and after mining is finished, companies have to restore the site to make it friendly. The worst case scenario is that we'll get sinkholes and that's scary, I don't want you to think Geologist 'refill' mines again so you can win the game.
It takes long for Geologist to look for more rare ores like GOLD as it's cost expensive to dig an entire site and to extract gold and other materials. They have their ways.
