When you visit a friend who's offline, you might see that his buildings lacks resources of some sort or another, but not which. If you could open his/her buildings, same as your own, you could see which part of his production line that needs buffing. No point in buffing iron when he/she lacks coal.
Totally agree. Seems a ridiculous omission.

I would love to beable to see what the resource they are lacking in is, I often find that I don't know what buildings to buff that would be of most help to the player in my freinds list
I was posting about the same problem. That would be really cool, would improve the friend based trade a LOT.
