Coal Bug and problems with moving resources from one island to another...even with all of that, IV was my favorite.

Na, it has got to be settlers 5 the graphics were 3d and simple still mainly about building a city, the music really worked well, and most importantly of all the story line kept you hooked.

The first Settlers is my alltime favourite. I played it with a friend on two Amiga's, it was really something else back then! I tried some later versions on PC but it never caught me like the first time. Untill, well, now I guess. This one is *** fun. But totally different, because now you build a city to keep growing; back in then we played the game over and over again.

    Settlers IV :-)

It was the "F12" key!! I could clear an entire forest in 2 minutes!! LOL!

Wish they had it in TSO, so I could be a lazy person! hehee

All time favorite was Settlers II. I hated the 10th anniversary edition of the second one since they found ways to ruin it (like the gateways were visible so it seemed pointless to play it), Semi Liked the third and the fourth and also the sort of liked the fifth but the rest have been too disney, I guess they tried (succeeded) to make the game for younger age groups by killing the soul of settler's 2 itself.

The it factor is gone cept that I feel that this online version brings it back a lil plus some cool features, like trading.

Settlers 1 closely followed by Settlers3.

Settlers 1 still is miles ahead of TSO somehow, both atmosphere/looks and content. I wish they'd just learn a few lessons from 1 & 3, instead of reinvent the wheel with settlersonline...and make so many mistakes that were never made in the past.

Settlers 2 was one of the greatest games I have ever played! I also liked Settlers 6 (Rise of an Empire) very much.
