new building licences after upgrading Mayor's house

It would be nice if you got 10 building licences after you upgrade the Mayor's house besides the storage upgrade. You only have 1 Mayor's house and the upgrades are expensive initially, so it would be nice. It would also add to the status of the MH, compared to the other storehouses.

There are enough licences already in game if you plan properly
If at first you don't succeed, sky-diving is not for you.

Yeah, but it took me some time to figure out that you shouldn't group the buildings together in a production chain, like in the older offline games, but rather grouped around a storehouse. I think that's something that should be added to the tutorial at an early stage.

Not if you want to produce resources in a decent quantity. The main obstacle to upgrading is lack of coins in the game. No-one wants to trade the basic or intermediate stuff for gold (probably because they don't have any). If you stick to the default number of licenses, it becomes very slow indeed.

Which is why the developers do it of course, so that suckers like me go and spend gems on extra licenses :|

What does placement have to do with number of licences?

Because travelling times to the storehouses slows down production, so I would need more buildings to compensate for that loss of time. Or the other option is to tear down the distant buildings and rebuild them closer to a storehouse, but that's also a huge drain on resources.

The number of licenses isn;t really an issue- you can buy 1 or 2 extra sets easy with in game reward gems and that on the whole should sort the license problem out. In the longer run you will also probably replace all housiing by in game reward housing and noble deeds from the shop freeing more licenses up- At best it is a temporary shortage.

But it would not be a bad idea to have some license rewards for upgrading the mayor house looking at the cost for upgrading it. Scale number of licenses with the lvl of the house (this more due to the small difference in storage space increase compared to upgrading a storehouse versus material cost both upgrades cost. The lvl 32 pack of licenses could be used for it and another reward put there imo, making upgrading mayor house more attractive.
