depends how and at what factor etc
Yes make roads work like in old settlers game
Yes make roads appear as settlers walk
No roads are for looks only, dont mess with the mechanics
No roads suck, i dont use them at all
depends how and at what factor etc
Nevermind I give up
noooo dont change roads - with the very very low count on marble / copper mines and the fact you can wipe them out so fast it makes no sense to speed them up even more.
Roads are for pretty in this version of game, not as a functional item - the map is too large to make it worthwhile, people would just 'road-out' their whole island in fear of something running out then their production chain isn't double impacted (loss of road path + extra distance you have to travel)
I don't want to see, or feel i have to, concrete all my home island just to keep them working the same speed as now.
My suggestion would fall on making the paths appear automatically, chaining the workyards to the nearest (currently linked) storage. Even though it might look stupid, because some of the roads would go "backwards" through the workyards, it is the only viable solution.
As much as I'd love to see the road-network from the original The Settlers, it seems to conflict with several already implemented design-features. It is a completely different game.
If you really want your settlers to use roads, click on a workyard to see the worker's route, then build a road along the route.
Only two things I would like to change about the roads is that they don't block building spaces (make a new building without having to remove the road first) and to remove those few patches of roads that are all muddy and ugly.
Even if the roads are decoration only would be nice, if can builded any direction, not only squeres edges...
since i deleted my roads, i have found a couple more spaces to build on. So its a no from me
Hi,
With roads the main thing I would like to see is that they actually cover the terrain they are laid upon. So far, whenever a road is built over marsh or scrub the road becomes submerged by it - it would be nice if it could be the other way around!
Thanks!
