Some of the areas have a limit to the number of active quarries you are allowed. For example, in the first zone there are two marble quarries but you can only have one of them active at a time.
The same with stone in sector 5, there are 4 stone quarries but you can only have 3 of them open at any one time.
If at first you don't succeed, sky-diving is not for you.
Sometimes that happens:-( Clearing cache and/or refreshing your browser normally solves this issue, sometimes you'll then see the deposits that the geologist said he did not find - worst case he'll find them if you send him out to look again.
My geologists are not finding anything either, and I know there are deposits not found (like 5 out of 10 marble)
ps clearing the cache worked- first time I have encountered that.
