No, but you can buy adventures with gems or map fragments or you can send your explorers to search for adventures.

The total loot is better then the camps on your private island and you need the XP to go beyond lvl 32. There are however time limits, so you best have plenty of troops ready and/or a good stock of weapons and settlers at hand. If you don't finish the adventure within the time limit you only get XP, not any loot. You should check out SidV's guide on adventures. Quite good reading.
