Lightbulb [kaos] adventure guides - Veteran General & Xbows

To the guide users, the thread starter hasn't updated the map to take into acount
the new pathings of the general. Your general may be intercepted and blocks may
    not work

When thread starter comes back and starts update map(s) to new pathfinding system,
    this message can deleted.

    Welcome!

We at [kaos] guild specialize in making guides for a number of adventures. Our philosophy :

    • Designed for Veteran General & Crossbow
    • Easy to interpret
    • Fool-proof (tips for exceptions, no blocking etc)
    • Optimized for XP/hour and XP/loss ratio

THE NORDS (Veteran General & Xbow edition) (-27R, -160M)

WITCH OF THE SWAMP (Veteran General & Xbow edition) (-391R, -1B, -25M)

OLD FRIENDS (Veteran General & Xbow edition) (-409R, -60B, -30M)

THE DARK PRIESTS (Veteran General & Xbow edition) (-202R, -15B, -17C)

ISLAND OF THE PIRATES (Veteran General & Xbow edition) (-562R)

    CREDITS
The Witch guide was mostly done by ourselves, from scratch.
The Dark Priests order-of-attack is based on Tibster's excellent work.
Old Friends order-of-attack is based on SidV's great guides
Island of the Pirates order-of-attack based on SidV's work, some setups based on Mimori's guides
The Nords order-of-attack is based on various german guides. Some setup's inspired by Xiashin's work!

Very nice guide, very nice presentation.

Keep all your guiders on the same topic (Kaos guides), and you might just have the next big thing on these forums.

    Thomas,

Thanks! We will never be as complete as the other adventure guide threads. However, we really enjoy fiddling around with setups, and wanted to share our experiences with others on a select few maps. Some 3-4 other maps will be added slowly here in the future, and I'll convert this thread to a "common" kaos-guide just like you mentioned.

I'm sure that the other guide-builders will remain more complete and detailed than us (We do not discuss blocking, very detailed camp locations unless needed etc). It was our intention to present simple and attractive guides for more experienced people, rather than extremely detailed maps (that sometimes lead us to go confused in the middle of battle ;-).

WITCH OF THE SWAMP (Veteran General & Xbow edition) (-391R, -1B, -25M)
    + No Cavalry losses
+ Just max of 25M loss, usually 10-15
+ Good rewards (Better than Horseback, Dark Priest etc)
+ 25% chance to "Old Friends" which is a very nice adventure (lots of granite, gold bars, good XP etc).
+ Cant go wrong - no complex blocking, retreating etc.

OoooH! I've done it with longbows, but then I had to sacrifice a few soldiers. Are Xbows really that much better?

Well there is an big difference between Longbowman and Crossbowman. This difference lies in the fact that an Crossbowman does much more damage. To compare:

So you see that they are very alike, but that there is a big difference between the damage they commit to the enemy.

I would like to emphasize (After some questions from people who are following the guide) that for the last base - the castle - the first wave *really* needs the 199R+1B instead of just 200R. This is because a 200R setup would give a small chance to leave 1 Cultist alive, meaning you could potentially lose up to 48C next round.
