Marble quarries; transient Workers; Storage issues

Dear Abby,

I just noticed in Sector 8 that TWO marble quarries are being worked simultaneously, even though I only have ONE marble mason in that sector. Can workers come from any sector to work on any particular building?? I've seen this before in Sector 5. Is this normal or a bug? I'm not complaining about it - just wondering.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Another observation: I have watched one of my fishers, (who had an empty fishing spot), walk from Sector 1 to Sector 5 to fish. I always thought workers stayed in their own sector, but apparently not. (see first comment)

Questions:
Items produced in one sector stay in that sector's storage unit? Or can it be transported to any storage in any sector?

Does this affect availability times from the second it's produced to the exact second it shows up in a storage bldg 3 sectors away?

Workers are not restricted to zones and will walk to wherever the work is.
