It seems the pathing is the least of the problems, the general ports to any camp within its sights, does not have to be in pathing line, and when ports, it is already at the end of the battle, thus preventing you a chance to retreat.

And which guides have you written lately? I would think you don't have any time to write.
Maybe you should take your own advice and get out there & start writing now .... just like you told them to get out there and learn for themselves.
