[Event] Poetry Contest - Ends Tuesday 24/07

    Dear Settlers,

This quest I offer onto you,
To devise a poem or tale of sorts
Of your village fame and local cohorts
With in it at least one rhyme of two.

Show us your worth as a writer
And we will richly reward your gist!
2000 bright gems for the best jester
and 1000 more for the two next in list.

So in 100 words, a little more if you must,
Tell us of wonders to see in your town.
And when the travel agents sadly let us down
Towards your home our holidays will adjust...

    Good luck
    BB_Azariel

PS: Event ends on Tuesday 24th of July, the TSO team will select their 10 favorites and we will decide the winners through an open vote on the forum.
I am no longer the Community Manager for this version of TSO. Please send any question to BB_Ravel.

My little village still so small
I ask for help from one and all
To grow my homes and soldiers too
To stop my lads crying boo hoo hoo

My lazy general fat and round
Sits with beer upon his mound
he quaffs it back and waves his mug
and wraps himself in a fine silk rug

So heed my tale villagers there
your soldiers think its all unfair
Give them the heart to go and flight
Please listen all to my boys plight
They will be loyal with all their might

I hope I win I need the dosh

We started out as one or few.
Not quite sure of what to do.
How to start a village from a clean plain scratch?
The beginning of greatness in mankind would hatch.

The era began with just a house
A handful of men and maybe a spouse
A goal was clear but far in the future
The city would slowly but steadily mature

Wood was cut down, and new was plated
Stone was gathered and carefully stranded
Buildings was build and everything was fine
But that only lasted so short a time.

Bandits gathered just pass the border
A captain or two was screaming the order
To take down this massive enemy fear
An Armey to build – that thing was clear.

The battle was short and victory was sure
A whole new area to model an occur
Slowly the kingdom grow large and strong
Technologies’ was learned and nothing seemed wrong.

How the future of this village once small
Nobody know but future will tell behind the wall
As long success are in hand.
Nobody bad can stop the man.

    Cause happiness and welfare
Is the two most important things to show care.
When the people are satisfied and proud
There is no limit to what can be done out loud.

I'll tell you a tale about a noble city,
At first it was small, but now it doesn't need pity.
It has an own island and growing fast,
It starts to help people who need assistance.

The generals of the town are also legendary,
They need only one horse to carry a whole army.
Monks visitied them when they were thirsty,
They were paid with footballs for a huge friary.

Other islands to be conquered are also waiting for them,
But there trips are hard to be made and not to be mistaken.
The adventures of the soldiers will be sung in another poem,
Till then I need lots of gems to get enough servicemen.

    The Euro's are finally over,
and the Olympics draw ever closer.

For the events the settlers prepare,
Making bread and brew with great care.
The Woodsmen are cutting poles and the bow's,
As the archers take aim, and javalin's throw!
The weaponsmithies are busy with fencing,
Making blades that are rather menacing.
The fishers are clearing the water,
And the builders are making the mortar,
    to make a clear pool,
    for the swimmers and all,
to make proud all the sons and the daughters.

So goodluck to all of the teams,
And come true all of britains dreams,
    if the lead, we uphold,
    we'll snag us a gold,
and hold them up with a gleam!

I own a small town with many people working there.
My head is full of construction plans.
I want to live in a big city,
    So i need more locality.

In my town the fields are full of wheat,
    And the hunters produce meat.
The lakes are full of fish.
Provision house is ready to make a dish.

    One cavalry needs 40 horses,
    But i need more sources.
My general is attacking a bandit camp.
I hope he will not be beaten by a tramp.

    I am not a bard,
So writing this was so hard.
    I hope i will get a chance
    To earn 2000 gems.

    The Settlers's the name
    Colonial life is the game.
    A multitude of adventures
    Make it worth the play.

    Start by chopping wood and
    Turn it in to planks
    Then set a fisherman
    to get your workers plates

    Build, build, build,
    and buff all day,
    Keep clicking upgrade
    And complete the quest chain.

    After the tutorial
    The game becomes euphoria

Oh settlement Im glad I found
Blue Byte, Settlers is the Game.
