I sent a load of trades a couple of days ago. These were accpeted by the other player, but I did not re-accept as yet. I just went to look at my inbox again and those trades have disappeared! What to do?

If you send trades to a friend, then he only needs to accept them. You do not need to accept trades that you made yourself.

But for some reason all my stuff has been deleted by the system
It was about 180 stacks of coal from one guy and about 30-40 stacks of Gold ore from two other guys.
About 3-4K gc value in total!

That is ridiculous! If there is a time limit on these things, then that should be laid out clearly within the rules of the game.
Did they say how long the time limit is?
The game rule makers have the nerve to complain at players abusing the game system, whilst at the same time they trick us into losing legitimate trades. Why should there be a time limit on re-acceptance anyway. There is no time limit on how long you can wait to accept a gift!
This has made me mad. I have been playing this game since March and never experienced this problem before. I have played everyday since then. Losing that 4k worth of goods thorugh no fault of my own has made up my mind for me to take an "extended" period of absense from this game now!
Come on devs sort it out. Lets have same fairer guidelines if you want to keep players from leaving!

I can understand that this mechanic is a little frustrating, it will be reported.

In the new trade system on the test server trades with the trade system are automatically added to your warehouses, so this is being worked on.
I can also understand why there is a timeout on it, because if there is not, then you have an unlimited storage space.

I agree about having some sort of time limit. But first of all we should be told what that is. Second of all that time limit should do what your paragraph 1 suggests. Put the items in your warehouse. NOT simply confiscate them into the ether! This is wrong and unreasonable!
I have complained to BB and we will what comes of it.
