@angua, the farms are not all 8 hour cycles
The small farm is 45 pumpkins, 1 per 8 hours.
The common farm is 80 pumpkins, 1 per 4 hours.
The noble farm is 100 pumpkins, 1 per 1 hour.
The noble farm only needs just over 4 days for total harvest, not too hard to get that buffed most of the time.

Even the dark buffs and everything, it is so exciting. What's the use if everything is just good, a little darkness is exciting as well. Think if it is a pvp and u will loose your village. Compare a dark buff to it, it is nothing.

Considering the 'buff' costs pumpkins, and they will be a somewhat valued commodity, I wouldn't think many people would be doing it at random.

3 schools @ 3 settlers per 2 hours = 36 settler
production required: building required: License Required
900 bread per 24 hours: lvl 2 bakery : 1
1440 ish water : 1~2 wells : 0
720 ish flour : lvl 3 Mill : 1
720 ish wheat: lvl 6 farm eq : 2

Well I'm very new to the game, enjoying it immensly however, but i only signed up 24 hours ago.
Atm I am only level 17 and I really want to get involved with this event. Sounds like fun
Can anyone give me tips as to which resources i should be harvesting to get the most out of the event?
