Datesama - I have a solution, albeit not a perfect solution to the lock-out issues ..

I would like you to arrange the following please.

Allow me to change the password to my account, without being locked out of the server.

I will then give my account to Freewheelin so that he may return to his own guild.

I will then open another account for myself and start the game again.

I would also like to think that BB reciprocate my actions and ensure that Freewheelin can perhaps be recompensed even if only in a small way for his financial commitment to the game.

I have spent money on the game too - however, to keep BB on board I am prepared to forgo this and simply start the game again.

    Thank you for your time
    Nuttymut

Brilliant gesture Nuttymut. 'Freewheelin' is well liked in our Guild I fully understand why you want him back. If BB you can help it would be greatly appreciated

    Hello Nuttymut,
This is a generous offer indeed.

However, this will not solve the problem in the long run.
As you know Freewheelin is not the only one experiencing this issue.

The dev team is working on a fix, I will keep you guys updated as soon as I have more information.
Although I fully understand that you want your friend back, please bear with the team a little longer.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your comments Mortallicus.

    This game like many others out there sells itself in many ways. One of those is to embrace and propogate the feeling of playing together as a team. I have played for about about 5 months now and have built up a repartee with my fellow guildies. I've never really bothered too much with swapping baskets ;

    Explanation
    • Dyslexic
    • Clinically depressed - which means my thought process slumps at times and I make silly mistakes
    • Haven't the time sometimes if the phone goes - work at home

I can make up for this by pumping my economy until it squeals. Then any over-runs I have I can distribute to those players that need the help.

I have always felt that our guild was friendly, transparent, honest and generally we are extremely tolerant of each other. I'm sure you would agree that for me this is simply a good place to find myself. Working at home isn't easy. I am really Billy No Mates. My condition, which is seasonal isn't something I have had great deal of help with. Indeed I have great feelings of bitterness towards the NHS in this regard.

No doubt you will understand that this then is more than a game to me. It is a means of having friends, albeit that they are cyber friends. It also provides other stimulus for me too.

If the boot was on the other foot and I found myself locked out of my guild and my server I would want others to support me. Maybe such expectations are the problem and not the lock out itself. Freewheelin obviously enjoys the game. And like all of us I am sure that enjoyment is for his own personal reasons.

I have expressed my disappointment with BB about this issue. However, continued support is not something BB Moderators seem to want to tolerate. I have been accused of being angry and I have been told to calm down. Why anyone confuses my passion and my support for a fellow guildy in this way is beyond me. I am not angry. I am passionate. I am not blaming any moderators for the issue neither. I have not and never would single any moderator out.

The replies I have had lack any real information other than to say be patient. I wonder how the moderators who claim to be fellow players would feel if they were locked out of their account in the same way? "We" are constantly being asked to consider the moderators position. What I cannot understand is why this is being turned into an issue of moderation when clearly it is an issue far more serious than that.

I would like to suggest that BB move this particular issue forward promptly please. I would also like to ask that all moderators reading this post accept my comments as constructive.

We don't always have to agree guys. However, I have made my position very clear. I agree that all the moderators on this board deserve common courtesy and respect. However, I would call for the team to reciprocate and accept that we all have to earn each others respect.

I am unable to make my position anymore clear and transparent than I already have done.

Please can we focus upon retruning Freewheelin to his guild and please please please can we do that promptly. I simply don't think it's that big an ask?

    Nuttymut :-)

    Hi Dantesama
Thank you for your prompt reply. I was hoping it would have been something I would have wanted hear. However, it is what it is.

I have read this reply which has come whilst I posted my last essay. Again the answer is very ambiguous in regard to timescales. However, I understand that this is not an issue you have any direct control over - you are effectively acting as BB's messenger. If I appear to shoot the messenger I apologise as that is not my intention.

    I look forward to a fix :-)

I empathise with you on this nuttymut as I suffer similarly, except mine isn't seasonal - it just comes and goes . . . the doc is always wanting to get the prescription pad out but I refuse as I'm already on so much, but I digress! . . .

I have already posted a suggestion which could be used to clear a lot of non-used player accounts in TSO without them loosing their ubi accounts. While at Norwich Union, many many years ago, I had to write a program which searched the entire live data base to look for accounts with errors in them so they could be deleted in a future clean up. It wasn't rocket science then and it only took me a day to write it and 3 hours for it to run in the background while the data base was live.

As maintenance must do a back-up - indeed most live servers back-up every 15 - 30 minutes to ensure real time data is not lost, there is no reason why a similar program could not be created to search for all of these users data, store it and then at the next back-up maintenance on a Thursday morning, their current accounts be deleted and their old ones reinstated . . . If this is too much for the poor "programmers" then they could pull the accounts out an old back-up, one assumes BB keeps records for at least 3 months, just in case!

Sounds like common sense lucky wonder why no one else can work that out.
Not only is there the issue of ppl getting locked out there accounts what is going on with all the lag and constant crashes of chat and game, this is truly frustrating me i appreciate the game is still only beta but why are you taking peoples money if its still a beta surely ppl shouldnt be paying untill all these bugs errors and lag is sorted just sounds to me that someone likes to make the money but not dig deep to ensure we all have a free flowing game experience such a shame.

I have only just seen this thread and am humbly overwhelmed by the proposal of my guildy mate nuttymut. that is some gesture bud, but if it WAS possible i couldn't and wouldn't let you just hand over your account to me.
You have spent good money and time on that account, the game means as much (if not more) to you as it does to me .
thank you nutty your efforts are well appreciated buddy.
