Hey, I just got a noble house from the trade, but I wanted to know, if I knock it down after upgrading it to level 2, what happens?
Does it go back to the star menu? Do I lose it forever? Do I get any resources back?

It will return to star menu yes,
but it will be lvl1 when you rebuild it, it is cheaper to move a lvl3
not sure if its cheaper to move or rebuild a lvl2 I would suspect move option is still cheaper
