I like this idea, or something along the same line.
If pvp is coming then I know I'd certainly like some way to try to protect my buildings, being able to build defensive structures would be excellent, either from wood or stone, also on the plus side it would give some value to the wood and stone resource.
Obviously these strutures should be seriously expensive in the selected resource, far more than what was proposed in the above suggestion but other than that, great idea.
Lets also have towers so we can get the bonus for archers
