    8 hour maintenance

Why do you have 8 hour maintenance? It really does not (and should not) take that long to fix whatever issues you might have, gets a tad annoying.

    Hi LobbyZN,

I work with Computers, and I can tell you for a fact an 8 hour weekly maintenance window on a critical system is in no way unusual....

This types of system has to have many safeguards put in place before even a single maintenance script can be run, every script has to have a rollback procedure, and verification/data integrity post run.

I believe BB re also integrating new infrastructure so this has to be initialized and tested to make sure this is working with all the other kit.

Any issues need to be fixed on the fly, and no matter how good the planning they can occur.

I am sure any company would like to keep down time to a minimum, and also to minimise wage costs for this event... it is not done to antagonise you {o)

and DVXE, I believe the time taken to carry out maintenance is added to the timer on adventures.

And you are assuming they have that but you don't know? A backup does not take 8 hours, scripts does not take 8 hours. It is Ubisoft we're talking about, they might seem incompetent but they're usually not. In that 8 hour window, i'd say about 1-2 hours of that is actually used for maintenance, they're just saying 8 hour downtime just in case something happens, this is a bad practice.

Ubisoft/BB needs to have a daily downtime for 1 hour because 8 hours weekly is like 70% uptime.

What is worse, saying you'll have a 2 hour downtime and finding you needed 5 hours to sort out the issues while having people on your back asking "what the dove is up? You said 2 hours!"

Or having 8 hours so that any issues you have are ironed out and you're not pressured into making mistakes to rush it back in, then you're not taking away what you told the players they could have.

    Hello LobbyZN,

Blue Byte wouldn't keep players waiting if it weren't necessary .
