    shipyard

    Can we have a shipyard, to find little islands that maybe find exotic wood trees and granite deposits?. Transport troops to new adventures, Esp lvl 50 + harder adventures, you could start off with little ships using pwl or planks and stone,, middle hwp and marble and best ships granite and exotic planks, the better the ship the more you transport in goods or troops, that way it will help build up the economy again,and give lvl 50's something new to do. (Extra post)

    Thnx for the comments guys, but i'll leave it upto ubi to sort out the details if they ever take up the suggestion,, but as it is money based the captains could be low ship captain 500gc to get it started and then maybe the middle and harder captains could be gem based like the BH and Vet generals, you could even have to hire cooks and crew in tavern too to help man the ships. And maybe the ships resources could find a gem mine deposits ,, abit like an iron mine but with like 50 gems available to dig. The possibilities could be huge if ubi takes the time to think it out abit,,, but i think we have given some good suggestions for them to build on. Please ubi consider a shipyard worthwhile,, Thnx.

    Interesting idea...
    Yeah you could be required to build a shipyard then ships. These ships would allow you to send explorers to discover islands with resources and then you could ship them back. Of course the trips would be hazardous and the chance of ship wrecking would be high. There maybe pirates...

    Maybe a new specialist could be introduced. The Captain. Who would be for hire from the pub at level 50. Hiring a Captain would be necessary to pilot the ship.
    A Salty Sea Dog , available to buy at the Merchant of course, is a ships Captain who would increase the chance of a ship arriving home safe.

    So to build a ship and find resource islands would require;
    1. Ship Yard
    2. Exoticwood & Tools
    2. Explorer
    3. Captain

    (possibly to defend a ship from pirate attacks a ship might be required to carry X amount of Cannons...)
    Settling isn't just for fun

    Something like this would be very welcome! This idea goes beyond mere (or harder) adventures, it would be the possibility of expansion. I suggest not so little islands, and more sectors on them with granit, saltpeter and titanium ore mines, exotic forest with exotic fruit. (By the way can make sense of the term "Expert" on storehouse tab, assumes more types of expert buildings and implement 50+ levels.) Perhaps there would be some less valuated resources on them, like marble, hardwood, iron ore and coal, just to be able emerge that kind of buildings and mines with locally produced resources (because shipping maybe expensive). Then, these islands should be discoverable by explorers or captain like new sectors, but priced like search for adventure, or the navigating to them should be priced by map fragments. The first settlers and geologist should arrive by ship, and island population limits should be increase by usual method: build residences.

    These islands also could be the scene of pvp fighting, areas to conquer and protect, also the possibility to make friendship and/or cooperation between different "owners" supervised neighbour sectors. OK, that sounds a bit colonization, so distant, hazy vision.

    Navigare necesse est.

    If any of the game designer consider introduction of ships why not use them as weapons against camps located close to the shore (if we equip the ships with canons) to weaken the enemy units.

    Ships always have been an essential part of the older Settlers games (just like the Anno games) and I always enjoyed that part the most. I really like this idea! Also the additions to the original plan that I read above are great! It would definitely makes this game so much more greater then it already is.
