Hidden messages

Some of you may remember a trend years ago of playing records (an older form of music storage to our younger listeners, with superior sound reproduction to cds and mp3s), trying to find hidden messages in the recordings.
Most of these claims were pure rubbish, although some funny things did appear on some.

Now, I've come to realise that if you play back The Smith's rather depressing "Meat is Murder", you kind of get "Red Rum is Meat"!

Perhaps Morrissey was a visionary after all?

After working a 12 hour shift where all you got was the same 6 The Smiths songs ad nauseum, the term of enticement to commit suicide tends to replace depressing. Man was I over the moon when after 4 days of hearing Morrissey's voice we got Debbie Harry.

Apparently the whole hidden message thing was a con by the music industry to fool gullible metalheads into ruining their albums by playing them backward so they had to buy new ones.

Whereas if you play your cassettes backwards ... you get the other half of the album. Genius, eh !
