Don't give up? Well, here's some food for thought from an average lev 37 perspective:
- 10 granite through long treasure search: 24h or 48h? (I forget) for each attempt (% unknown to me and depends on number of scouts ofc). I'd say it's fair to assume this takes a couple of days.
- Produce 100 exotic wood planks: 10 hours with lev 1 exo sawmill, buffed
- Produce 250 longbows: 15 hours with lev 3 longbowmaker, buffed.
(And do I really want to make a longbowmaker for this quest if I'm normally using xbows?)
- Produce 100 gift baskets: 17 hours with lev 3 provision house
- Outlaws with <500 recruits: even with optimal setup from a guide, and assuming I've stockpiled weapons, beer and instant settlers, takes a lot of time to produce the required troops with lev 3 barracks. Depends on generals and how well you do it but easily more than 1d.
(Also takes quite a while to play the adventures repeatedly, assuming you don't know the adventures by heart at lev 37.)
- Bandit nest: again something like 1d+ worth of units, and with 33% chance. It could take 1 day or 10 days.
- Produce 200 settlers without using bread: 50 hours on base 4/hour rate, love potions and village schools help somewhat but still 1d+
- Own 500 longbowmen: ~1d with lev 3 barracks and messes up your population.
(So you need to get 500 other troops killed first, and then get these longbowmen killed once you're done.)
- Old friends: easier adv and 61% chance, but still random.
+ a whole bunch of easier requirements.
So yes it's technically possible if you play optimally, dedicate your life to it (no thanks) and get lucky with loot drops. That's not realistic for most players though. Therefore they can't expect to get the 500 gems, and so they need to judge whether it's wise to do some of the quests (like 500 longbowmen for 300 brew) at all. The other option is to abandon the whole thing at some point when the reward for an individual quest [ Censored ]. And some of them sure do.
Please keep it PEGI7,
