Thanks, I have amended above
I'm more than likely working right now.
Aye not sure what to think of this update.
The buildings look nice. I also like the idea to add chances to find a little treasure or 2 deposits if you're lucky. Adding a bit of surprise to the geologist's results, that's a nice idea.
But... well it just improves the resources, mainly the ores. And the whole supply-chain of ores just isn't an issue for me. It's all perfectly under control, I dont need more ores. Finding 2 coal-deposits at once, well not really needed.
It is a nice update, and for lots of people it will make life easier. For me the geologist skill-tree is not going to add much. But there are skill-trees for the explorer and generals coming up too, maybe they have more to offer for the high level players.
Where are the skill trees for explorers and generals? (I can see it saying implemented later) but will that be like PvP and level 50+ ?
7 new buildings of which 6 can be built as many times as you want how will that go down with people who already have a packed to the max island? Is the island going to be expanded?

no news for players which reached lvl 50. My island is full for example. Those new buildings can levitate?

As there are many spots in the water for the floating residence I hope if the island is not expanded then these buildings can be built there?
I like the new updates!
VERY interesting update. It will add a lot of depth to the game, when all 3 Science systems are introduced.
There are some two immediate issues I can think of though:
1) Building Licenses limit.
They are already constrained, specially for the people that dont buy lots of gems/pits and max them out. Not sure If the other chains will have new buildings too - explorer academy and military academy/castle? New additions will further reduce the possibilities for what we can have on our island. Time for a bigger building license limit.
2) Island space.
Home islands are quite packed with the current number of licenses, and Store buildings like Noble Houses. No idea what could work here; island expnasion maybe, with new sectors. A full new island(s) would be awesome too.
Besides that, a suggestion:
I hope that Generals get some abilities from Units/camps they have killed. So they advance not only through Manuscript, Tome, Codex, but also by being on the field, acquiring real combat experience. And of course, we should be able to name our Generals too; but that is probably happening already.
This development worries me. I've seen this happen before.
This new science system brings complexity and detail, but to no great effect on the actually gameplay. The skills it gives geologists are effectively just permanent buffs. Did we really need an entire science tree of additional buildings to fit on our islands, just to achieve permanent buffs to specialists? I suppose it's one way of doing it, but it smacks of complicating things just for the sake of it. Surely the same skills would be more logically achieved by specialists through accumulating experience. If my geologist has searched for the same copper mine a thousand times, don't you think he might have got a bit better at it after a while?
I don't want to pre-judge, but I'm worried about the direction things are taking. Did anyone ask for this? I've seen lots of requests and suggestions, but no great clamour for what it is we're being given. If all the development is going into new tech trees and complexity, rather than new adventures, new content for high levels and fresh challenges that will keep us interested for more than the couple of days it will take to learn a new tech tree, then I'm not hopeful for the future. Sorry to be a bit down about this, but I really have seen this sort of uncalled for and pointless complexity be introduced in other games and it didn't add to the experience. I hope I'm wrong.
